@wendelah replied to your post: Do you have a meta for the Flynn and Emma scene?
Emma turning out to be Rittenhouse totally threw me because Flynn found her using Lucy’s diary. If future!Lucy had written the diary to give it to Flynn, wouldn’t she have known that Emma was Rittenhouse and warned Flynn about it? The diary didn’t make sense then. It doesn’t make sense now. I just want answers.
Pulling this out of the notes because it’s a great question and one I have thought about a lot. The way I see it, there are a couple main possibilities.
Option 1, which may be the most likely: I think there are things Lucy intentionally left out or misrepresented in the journal because they were too important to risk them happening differently. Flynn says himself in 1x06 that the journal doesn’t say everything. And Emma is a huge piece of this story as it’s been set up to move forward. If Lucy wanted things to happen the same way they’re “supposed” to, Emma absolutely had to be found and brought back to the present. She absolutely had to work with Flynn. She had to be allowed to betray him. Because she’s being positioned plot-wise to either take out Nicholas and become the head of Rittenhouse or become a double agent yet again, either of which would be instrumental to any future take-down. So, I can see Lucy writing just enough to lead Flynn to Emma (either by just dropping clues or by mentioning her explicitly) and leaving out the rest, maybe feeling a little bad about it knowing that Emma would betray him, but doing it anyway for the greater good.
Option 2: Lucy wrote about Emma in the journal, told Flynn she was Rittenhouse (or implied that at least he shouldn’t trust her too much), and stressed the importance of him finding her and working with her to reach the ultimate goal. Less likely than the first option because Flynn’s reaction to confronting Emma again was far too genuine (imo) for him to have known about her betrayal in advance.
I’m sure there are other possibilities, but yes, as far as I’m concerned, the journal still makes perfect sense.
Thank you! I saved the picture just in case. I'll keep you uptadated if I find it! I am European, so...
And, I must admit I felt a little tug in my heart. I hope you will also be here then! I really enjoy your content, and honestly, you light up my day whenever you post something. Like when I see the notification that you've posted, I hurry to Tumblr haha (I hope that didn't sound weird...) - OC anon
Ah, gotcha! I'm sure something very similar is available if this specific journal is not.
As for your very kind words:
Not weird at all, you're incredibly sweet.
Yeah, I feel the last part. A blank page does feel intimidating often, even if I really want to fill it. But the journal sounds interesting ^^, I don't know if I can find it here, but I'll keep an eye out! I hope I'll still be here when you've finished your journal. - OC anon
I know it's available in the states, but the publisher is 'potter' if you feel the desire to go out of your way for it!
As for sticking around, I'm not sure I'll be here in 5 years, but I do hope to be and that people will still tag along 💛
Im so nervous about talking about myself and my issues that Im afraid to even write somethings in my own journal. Wtf.
I am utterly obsessed with journals. It makes me so happy when people post pages of their journals I find it incredibly fascinating
