Chance building up a relationship with Will for months before jumping Dustin but it still happens because of his need to fit in with the rest of the jocks and the resentment towards Hellfire,,, damaging their relationship and undoing the progress he’s made,,, Yay!

Chance (#ToMe) has deluded himself into believing that Will’s ‘one of the good ones’ because he’s dead set on Will being brainwashed by the cult/his involvement being involuntary and he’s being forced into it

^actual plot point I’m working into a fic. It starts off with Chance believing he’s ‘made (the brainwashing) up’ to get Andy off Will’s back but then the idea just. Builds. And it keeps going until it’s the only thing that seems reasonable

Sighhhhh Chance being influenced by the Satanic panic…. Chance still believing Hellfire is a cult…….. even when he talks to Will……… and starts developing feelings………
