Opinion on an AU where Pildo switches side for Jiwoo?
no joke i literally said this earlier on jess’s post
but in my opinion it would be AMAZING!!!
as we see pildo’s character in the show, i don’t think he would do it, at least not in a canon sense. i think the biggest cornerstone of pildo’s character is just how upright he is when it comes to justice. and as we saw, he even convinced jiwoo to try and do things “the right way” even though it would be hard. and i actually love this aspect of his character so, so much, so i’m glad in canon it stayed that way.
but as an AU? oh, man. jiwoo convincing pildo to flip instead and to join dongcheon? would be SO killer. i think the biggest selling point for pildo would be a hypothetical situation where mujin has better resources to find out what happened to his little sister—what kind of drug it was, who was selling/distributing at that time, all kinds of things. and maybe he would be skeptical at first—he’s a former cop, after all—but i think with the closer they got, he would experience the influence of the dongcheon gospel of revenge. the closer they got the more the idea of revenge would dog his heels and the more desperate he’d become to get the answer that he never got, not really. and seeing pildo’s just, righteous personality being used on the side of the “villains”? would be so, SO fun to explore.
