There are no rumours, no people whispering, wide-eyed with uncertainty and paranoia. Everything is unsaid and known all too well in this town, billboards with monochrome pictures of missing children and teenagers dotted at the ends of streets. Attempted sketches of the serial killers who are more or less empty figures in grey pencil sketches.
Empty figures you know well.
And as you stay awake at night in your room, curtains fluttering slightly in the night breeze, it’s as if the whispers drift through every dark corner and shadow. Your home was locked up tight, right before you let the window to your bedroom open - just a crack, that was all it needed to send out the sign that you were ready to go over to another place, a place just as much home as the numbered, slim place you lived in on your neighbourhood street.
When the shadows become a figure, you know exactly who it is.
There’s not much to make out in the midnight light of the room, nothing except a white hoodie streaked with a musky, metallic-scented crimson streak, and a blade shining boldly at the end of a sleeve. Unruly black hair falls around the shoulders, thick straight clumps of midnight locks contrasting against battered and burned skin as white as January snow, only stopping where the lips turned up in a sickly, carved grin in a similar red hue to the stain on the hoodie.
The large grin widens a fraction as you watch it, and a beat of deafening silence pulses before you hear three words whispered in a strained, deranged tone into the darkness.
"Go to sleep."
"Go to hell," is your immediate dry response, eliciting a barrel of high-pitched snickers from the bloodied boy.
“Rise and shine, sweetness,” Jeff responds breezily, with a look of dark amusement in his dim blue-black eyes. “Back to Slender Mansion for you tonight.”
When you go to huff and slump back down in bed, your body's blocked by another with a start, familiar thick black-rimmed, orange-tinted goggles fixed firmly over a head of loose bronze curls. His mask is off, freely exposing the crooked grin stretching up half the fair skin of his cheek.
"Y- you didn't forget us, did you?" Is his stammered question, a breath of a ragged whisper you can almost feel against your skin. "After... well... wh- after so long?"
It's a simple line charged with a lot more unspoken, but it's enough to make you smile. How long had it been since you'd discovered the Creepypastas?
"No, Toby."
Your phone screen practically snaps in two, and your eyes roll to the ceiling in exasperation.
"BEN."
Jeff glances once at the screen, vaguely interested, and snorts. "Which one?"
"Come on, come on," Toby interrupts impatiently, shifting from where he sits close by you, invading your space freely. "Let- let's go. Those two are... are outside."
Your brows furrow in bemusement, glancing back between them. "Those two?"
"New boys on the block," Jeff huffs roughly, long inky locks hanging in his eyes as he stands back up in a languid swing. "Timmy and Brianna."
"It's Hoodie, dipshit," a mumbling drone comes from the window, and all you can make out is a tall figure in a much cleaner hoodie than Jeff's, his face shadowed by the draping yellow fabric. Its head nods once in your direction, and you stare back, baffled. "Evening."
"Thi- this is.." Toby exhales sharply, frustrated, before starting again, slower. "This is Hoodie, and.. and Masky should be down there too. They're proxies."
You follow a few steps behind Jeff, peering over your windowsill to make out another figure standing out in the cold, a hollow white mask hiding his face. He hesitates when his head tilts up to spot you, then waves once awkwardly. It's enough to make you smile again.
"Saddle up," Jeff orders simply, sliding out the window and catching you when you come down too, Toby dithering for a few moments before landing close by, apparently confused.
"What?"
"What?"
"There's no horse, what do you mean, saddle up?"
"How 'bout I make one outta you?"
"Stop it," you push at Jeff's back gently, amused, slipping a hand into one of Toby's gloved ones, who blinks back at you with round eyes. "I want to go home."
"From the start, it has been a game for us," Hoodie drones dully, falling in step with you, and Jeff groans out loud at the sound of it. "Not anymore."
"The hell's the emo on about?"
"Me, emo?" Hoodie scoffs dryly, a complete lack of emotion in his tone. "Is that fake blood on your hoodie?"
"You wanna find out?"
Your phone vibrates, and you smile brightly in amusement, flashing the screen in their direction.
you shouldnt have said that.
"You're gonna take advice from a virus?"
"He's not a virus-"
"He's not a- a he, either, because... well, there are lots- lots of them, aren't there?"
"I don't care."
"You do nothing but make everything worse."
"Stop," you repeat, your hand leaving Toby's as you take a few hurried steps into the town's forest, your eyes darting around the silhouetted trees making a labyrinth around you. "He's here."
Masky falters at your words, and Hoodie gives him a pointed prod, urging him onwards.
From the shadows, an immesurably tall white figure takes silent shape.
"Just empty... black... sockets."
You don't need to glance behind you to know that it's Jack, and a faint, absentminded smile graces your lips. Jeff huffs as he catches up, taking one look up and over in Slenderman's direction, before his grin widens with a snicker, and he outstretches an arm expectantly.

He'll drag you by the hand and run away from the guy right afterwards
And as always... Somehow you aren't disturbed.. He'll never understand why but he's definitely not complaining!
Actually... He doubts you even realize what he does
But don't worry... He won't turn his knife at you (unless you ask him really nicely ^_^)
The only time he ever actually could cause you any harm is if he slapped your ass a bit too hard-
Which, by the way! He slaps it almost every day... Or at least when he visits you...
Just expect it when he comes over... There is no avoiding it...
(That's not the only thing you should expect him to do to you when he comes over)

The version of emo boy Jeff I'll be using for inspo is Funn's.
They met in the woods, like most pastas do, when Jeff was on a late night walk to clear his head and smoke.
The demon watched him from afar, curious about the human and why he was out all alone.
Kagekao eventually decided to begin walking up from behind him and triggered Jeff's defenses. He whipped around with his knife in hand, ready to stab whoever was sneaking up. Kagekao chuckled, amused to have found someone who actually paid attention to their surroundings for once.
Jeff is a grump and a smug freak, we can all universally agree on that fact. His spoiled nature loves to shine through the layers of grime that cake his long hair, but he never expected that light to ever catch the eye of anyone.
Kagekao loves his bratty nature, eating up any chance he gets to push his buttons and see his smug cool guy nature crumble as his rage boils over. His favorite part is when he's gotten under his skin enough to start a fight between them.
Their relationship is an odd one. Neither of them has ever said anything about being together, Kagekao referring to Jeff as his "favorite toy" and Jeff referring to Kagekao as a whole list of insults. Kagekao's love language is ragebait and Jeff is one gullible fool with anger issues.
The only time you could catch them together is when Jeff is trying to beat Kagekao into a pulp, and failing horribly, or in the rare chance you can catch them out in the woods together without being caught. Although its more likely that Kagekao knows you're there but wants them to be seen so gossip can spread.
Its easy to assume they're frenemies or just downright enemies with the smallest bit of respect towards one another.
But there had been times when Jeff wasn't found at his usuals pots, only to then come up again with a new scarf that everyone is sure they saw Kagekao wearing last week.
Kagekao loves his eyeliner and black nail polish too, never expecting to be a fan of this messy emo style he wore. There had been times where Kagekao would steal his eyeliner to try it on himself. It doesn't show up all too well, not to mention his mask pretty much covers it, but a part of him loves to just wear it because its Jeff's.
Even though they fight often, they do have moments of drinking and chatting. It became a common thing they did, Kagekao bringing wine and Jeff finding spots for them to chat, drink, and gossip a bit. He'll even bring out a speaker to play music on, mostly your generic emo bands. Kagekao isn't a total fan of it but he loves hearing Jeff sing along in his raspy voice while drunk.
More often than not, Jeff ends up getting tired out from the alcohol and falls asleep. Kageko takes advantage of it and gets out a sharpie to leave a surprise on his face, from dumb doodles to kiss marks just to start more rumors.
Jeff heavily denies there being anything between them at all, but if you asked Kagekao he'd only chuckle and mumble something like "Jeff is such an odd treasure."
