I de-anon’d the Whipping Boy AU with the final chapter that just posted. I simply want to say I greatly appreciated seeing it discussed here, once someone alerted me! I didn’t think the concept would be well-received and it was so gratifying to see excitement over it. It made plotting and writing the story easy and enjoyable. Thank you to everyone who was so encouraging and invested in the journey! It’s now a series as there will be a short WangXian companion piece very soon. <3

We have word from the author themselves! I personally would like to thank you for starting the wonderful fic in the first place, as it has inspired and brought many to tears.

Haru twists and flops down on his stomach, wide awake, mind circling around and around. He groans, long and low into his pillow. He wishes Rin could hear it, sense his distress and come running. Although, as the silence stretches on and he remains alone in the bedroom, Haru is reminded that Rin might not come back for anything.

Haru is uncertain if Rin will come back at all.

Reading through your blog, trying to get a good feel before giving an answer... I'd say Izzy. Basically a kick-ass, gorgeous, warrior heroine who doesn't seek out battles but willingly fights them when she needs to.

By the time Rin reaches Haru's side, he is crouched down in front of a short, stout dog, mostly beige with a squashed black muzzle. Haru strokes its head and quietly carries on a one-sided conversation. Rin scans the posted information, murmuring to himself. “One year old female…fawn pug...docile and sweet…couch potato… clever...stubborn.” He raises his voice and chuckles. “Hey, this one has some of your traits. No wonder you seem to like her.”
