“Onyx” is an early 1980’s Boston based new wave / avant-garde band, that was an international duo of American songwriter and instrumentalist Judd Stone, and British vocalist (and then Boston fashion model) Beveur. – Note: pronounced like “Bevoir”. Recordings: “Jet Set” and “Saturn 09” – recorded at The Loft, Boston; 1981 “Call of the Wild” and “S.O.S.” – recorded at Wormwood Street Studios, Boston; 1982 “Robot World” and “Planet X” – recorded at Newbury Sound, Boston; 1983 Video: “S.O.S.” – Filmed in Rhode Island, USA; 1984 Except for a primitive drum machine track that is used on “Planet X”, the only instruments used are drums /percussion and synthesizers. All of the instruments are played, and there is no syncing or sequencers used on any of the recordings. The bass tracks are keyboard bass. All songs are written and produced by Judd Stone. The music is made to be played LOUD!! Judd Stone recently wrote: “I’m very pleased to be working with MIND Records on a compilation re-issue, and grateful that the music might still have an audience after all this time!”
