Luke was busy scribbling away on his journal up on the loft, his feet dangling off the railings, when he heard the studio doors creek open. With the knowledge that Reggie and Alex would never actually use the doors, always opting to poof in, Luke looked up a smile already spreading across his face as he spotted his favourite person in the world walk in.
That smile continued to stretch until it froze, his eyes fully taking in the sight in front of him. With the journal on his lap half-forgotten, Luke stumbled as he poofed down onto the ground floor, his eyes not leaving Julie’s form.
He tripped over his feet as he walked closer to her, only noticing her bemused and slightly worried expression once he managed to drag his eyes up to meet hers.
“Uh, hi?” She waved at him. It took Luke a second to register the fact that she had only waved to bring his focus back to her.
He shook his head, letting a more tempered smile take over his features as he reached forward to pull her towards him using his hoodie pockets.
“Hey. Wardrobe upgrade?” His smile shifted into a smirk at Julie’s expression.
“Hm, I’d say more like a wardrobe downgrade. But I guess I’ll just have to slum it for now.” Her hands creeped into the hoodie pockets, covering his in the process.
Luke stared at her for a second, his mouth dropping open at her dig about his favourite hoodie.
He opened his mouth to retaliate only to snap it shut when Julie retracted her hands from the pockets, lifting them above her head to pull the hood up and over her mass of curls.
“So? What’s the verdict?” She spread her arms out, the comically large armholes looking extra big on her small frame.
Luke’s eyes took her in before he shook his head at her.
“Nah boss, you don’t get to diss my clothes and then expect compliments.”
“Hm, what should I expect then?” Her eyes twinkled with humour as she looked up at him, her arms sliding around his waist.
“This.” Without pausing to give her time to react, Luke scooped her up, his arms wrapping around her thighs as he lifted her off the floor. A squeal slipped past her lips as her arms flailed in the air for a second before she wrapped them securely around his neck.
Luke chuckled as he held her, waiting for her to regain her balance (and composure).
“That wasn’t very nice, Mr. Lucas Patterson,” she admonished, although it was tempered by the large smile that dominated her features.
“I never said I was nice, Ms. Julietta Molina.”
Julie grimaced at him as she pulled his hood up over his head to match her.
“I told you that wasn’t my name,” she mumbled, her hands coming to rest on his cheeks.
“And I told you Lucas wasn’t mine,” he shot back, his thoughts momentarily distracted by how close she was to his face.
“No, but I say it is,” she said with an air of finality.
Luke opened his mouth ready retaliate, only to have her place her finger against his lips.
“Will you keep your mouth shut for more than a few seconds so I can kiss you?” She demanded, all thoughts scattering away in his mind.
Luke’s grin grew wider as Julie leaned in closer, but he had one last thing to say before she bridged that gap.

Weeeeelcome to @jukebox-week with meeee. Remember that rebloguing helps a lot and makes me really happy.
Day 1: Canonverse
Summary: Julie knows how to play guitar, but Luke doesn’t know that, so he’s going to teach her, but things don’t always work as planned… Maybe they work better than planned.
Sneak peek:
So, when Luke asked casually if she played guitar, all excited and bouncy on his heels, she saw the perfect opportunity, she didn’t even think it through. They were in the studio, it was late afternoon and the sun was in that precious angle when everything felt beautiful and soft around the edges. The glow was behind him, framing his figure like a vision made in heaven, just for her eyes to see. Nobody could blame her for blue-screening and saying “no”, even if that was a lie. Oops.
Guitar was the first instrument she learnt how to play. Bobby Trevor taught her. Her mom gifted her a guitar when she was barely four years old, an acoustic, she still had that one somewhere in the studio. She couldn’t even hold it properly, the guitar was so big and she was so tiny, but they made it work. Her mom taught her the basics, but soon after, Trevor and Carrie started to drop by every afternoon. Carrie got a guitar for her birthday too (only a few months apart from Julie) and they made it work too. She befriended Carrie over those classes, and Trevor, who at the time seemed the coolest person on earth, taught them the rest. Chord by chord, little by little… She learnt how to play. And Carrie did, too. The first song they could fully play was one of Trevor’s (well, one of Luke’s). Julie still remembered all that song. Maybe she should tell Luke about that.
I want to say a big thank you to all the creators in this fandom. Y’all are what keeps this fandom alive and making it so much more than the nine episodes we were given. Everyone in this fandom is really damn talented, but these folks are kinda my faves.
okay hi here have a (defo more then) six sentence saturday for of fireman!luke for jukebox week. i’m finally getting into the dating juke section of it and i’m having a great time with them being cute and falling in love.
Which is his newest reason for hating working nights.
He misses spending time with Julie. At this point he’d even take getting to hug her, to watch something crappy on tv and fall asleep together in the same bed. Somehow, he’s pretty sure he could blame all this on Danfroth.
“You’re extra grumpy today,” Alex comments as he stirs something in a pot on the stove, watching the way Luke dumps cream into this coffee and grunts at the way his favourite bowl is still dirty in the sink from yesterday.
“I hate the night shift,” he mutters, giving up on his hunt for cereal and pulling a box of leftover pasta from the fridge instead.
“If you wait a minutes you can have some of this.” Luke doesn’t even have a chance to say anything before Alex is pulling the container away from him and he has no choice but to wait.
“Something is smelling good!” Reggie breezes into the kitchen with the air of someone who has been up for hours and is preparing to wind down for the evening. Luke kind of wants to throw something at him for it, and might have tried if he didn’t spot a ball of fur purring away on his shoulder, “What’s going on with Mr Pouty?”
“He’s not seen Julie in a week. I think he’s having withdrawals,” Alex whispers loudly as he spoon what Luke thinks is risotto into a bowl and slides it across to him.
“Fuck off,” he mutters, flipping Reggie off as he starts laughing and pulling a fork out of the drawer closest to him, it does nothing to dissuade his boys from their laughter and Luke can’t find it in himself to care. He’s tired and he misses Julie. Sue him.

Summary: “Hey, boss,” Luke said, rubbing the back of his neck. “I, uh, wanted to ask you…” he paused to swallow hard, “if maybe you’d want to come to the Sunset Curve gig tonight? The owner of Eats&Beats offered us a full set tonight. About ten or eleven songs, actually. I was hoping… you could be there?”
“A whole set?! Luke, that’s amazing!” Julie exclaimed when she pulled away. He kept his arms around her, his thumbs making circles on her waist. “Of course I’ll be there!”
Luke smiled softly at her, watching her excitement for him. He pulled her a little bit closer to him as he said, “And then, I thought, I could maybe buy you dinner? You know, after?”
