🍑 If you could make a connection between your favorite character and another work you care about (whether a crossover/fusion or a wonderfully “pretentious” literary reference) what would it be? How would it work?

Mhmm… that question is very interesting, but I think this is a good way to combine one of my favorite TV series with our silly Slovenian soft bois.

(Okay, so this is gonna be long and rambly and I only have a half baked knowledge of the show and I have not read the books, just to warn you!)

In this post I already compared Bojan and Jan with Quentin and Eliot from The Magicians and I still think it's a very good comparison! (Mostly looks wise, character wise they are a little different, even though both Quentin and Bojan have anxiety, but Q has some more stuff going on that I hope Bojči doesn't).

It's the hand on the neck for me omg. God maybe I should do another post about them...

I would so love to see Jan and Bojan and all the others ngl as students in Brakebills or maybe in Fillory, I'm sure Bojan and Nace would love the talking animals, while Jure would be so into the Flying Forest (it's opium laced, I'm sure kitty would have fun).

Also, I absolutely love magical AUs and them at a magical College would be such an interesting thought. And all the different disciplines are so much fun to play with!

Bojan: He would definitely be one of the physical kids. He'd have a good grip on telekinesis, maybe even be able to do some fire manipulation and some minor mending (small object reparation). Although one might argue he could also be an empath, I wouldn't wanna put him in the psychic discipline, since a lot of psychics have a base level of telepathy and I think it only would make him even more anxious and I really wouldn't want that ngl. But since the physical kids are also quite social (and the best party people), I think it fits very well with him.

Jan: also strikes me as either a physical kid or one of the psychics. I feel like he'd be able to focus on fire manipulation and cold magic, but telekinesis and phosphoromancy (light bending) also seem like a good fit for him and honestly, I think he'd be able to at least be able to work a few different disciplines easier than usual. For some reason I feel if he were a psychic, he'd had the discipline of either telepathy or precognition, maybe even astral projection, but I'd rather say he's a physical kid, him and Bojan would throw the best parties.

Nace: He is a lil harder, for me he's either a physical kid or a healer. If he were a physical kid I 100% think his discipline would be mending, both major and minor, maybe also with a dash of telekinesis, but healing magic also seems like a good fit for him. He's nurturing, an absolute sweetheart and he has that calming presence and seems like he loves being helpful which would make him a perfect healer (those traits also would fit very well with mending btw). 

But he's not only that. He's chaotic, he's a silly goose who sometimes can be a bit thoughtless in what he says and doesn't realise sth might come off a bit wrong and I'm sure he's not that innocent little bean we make him out to be, at least not all the time. So while that obviously doesn't prevent him from being a healer, I think he'd be a good fit for the physical kids.

Kris: I feel like he'd be one of the few students of knowledge trying to understand how magic works. Since Knowledge is a mix of psychic and physical magic, I feel it might be a good fit for him. There aren't a lot of disciplines, but I think meta-composition (taking spells apart and understanding the separate components and maybe even creating new spells) would be a good thing for him. On the other hand I think he might also have some illusion magic, but mostly knowledge. He also gives me major Julia vibes in that regard.

Jure: I feel like Jure would most likely be a naturalist. He spends a lot of time in nature, seems grounded by it and seems to use it as a way to recharge, so I think it would fit him quite well. Nature magic can either be focused on the weather, which would fit with the sunshine kitty, or on plants.

But he also could be an illusionist. I'm sure he'd be quite good at vanishing, cloaking and invisibility, since he manages to keep a lot of stuff private and stay under the radar, just as I think he might like.

For some reason, I also think he might even be able to do inter-dimensional travel (like Penny), idk why, but I just think it would fit him.

(Also, magicians have to be good with their fingers, so I think the boys would be good at it)

🫐 What’s your favorite underrated thing in your fandom? (A ship that only you seem to write for, a character there’s almost no fics about, a trope that criminally hasn’t been written yet, etc.)

Ohhhhh, that answer is so very obvious 🤭 I think a lot of ships are underrated. First, I'd obviously say BoJance, my favorite little throuple! These three fit so well together, but there aren't a lot of fics. The same goes for BoJan (although the work count has increased there and I love it so much!!) and BoNace and I just wish more ppl would write for them.

And as a surprise, I think one other criminally underrated ship is JuKris!

Let’s be real here nonnie, esp w you letting out your frustrations on Madrabit, Maca and I (I’m sure there’s someone else but I’ve been a lil busy and haven’t actually seen what’s been going on in the tag) I’m gonna reasonably presume it’s BoJance you’re talking about.

But here’s the thing: you can’t thought police me, or anyone else on this app. ESPECIALLY on this app. I’m thinking abt them doing things you can’t even imagine while I’m answering your sweet lil ask, and there’s nothing you can do about it 😌😌

We don’t always vibe with every ship, and sometimes we see it and get the ick. Such is our lot in life. But sending people hate, especially if it’s on anon (bc that’s really the saddest (trying hard not to call you pathetic) part of it all) will not fill the void that’s clearly gnawing at you.

I suggest you seek someone out for a friendly lil chat, it doesn’t have to be with me, but my asks are (as you know) always open.

how come you have a love/hate relationship with Jurekris?👀

Sorry if my wording was a bit ominous, thanks for asking for a clarification! :)

Well I have a hard time properly reading both Kris and Jure, and that makes me second guess myself a lot while writing.

Usually when I write I kind of… write dialogue that I can hear them say in their voice in my head?

Like I’m not claiming to /get/ these men (first and foremost because they’re real people and not characters), but with both Jure and Kris I have a harder time feeling out how they’d say things, behave or react, so writing them is always a bit more challenging for me.

When I started writing Jance I had a similar issue with Jan and it made me resort to Nace pov a lot, but of course if it’s both people in the ship there’s not really a workaround.

I know though that the best cure for this is writing more of them and finding my groove, so to speak, hence why I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with that ship…

Jure entered the studio, a tray with 5 coffees and a bag of delicious smelling, fresh pastries in the other. 

“I ended up going to that other bakery…” he started, quickly swallowing the rest of his sentence when he became aware of the tense atmosphere in the room.

“I. Said. It’s. Fine.” came Kris’ clipped voice, “I can do this.” 

Jan raised his hands in surrender, stomped over to the sofa across the room and heavily plopped down next to Bojan, slumping into his side, head resting on the smaller man’s shoulder. 

The singer wrapped his arm around Jan and carded his fingers through the guitarist’s hair.

Jure quietly put the drinks and pastries down on the shelf next to him and scanned the room for Nace. 

The bassist was leaning against the wall on the far side of the room, phone in hand but gaze on Jure. He raised an eyebrow and shrugged his shoulders, clearly out of his depth as well.

Kris was still sitting hunched over the laptop that was open on a chair in front of him, phone in hand while he huffed and narrowed his eyes at whatever search result he’d pulled up. 

When Jure had left the studio about half an hour before, Kris had been on the phone, and from what Jure had gathered they needed to rebook their accommodation for their next two gigs on short notice. 

It was seemingly not going smoothly.

While he was still watching the younger man who was openly scowling at his phone now, Bojan piped up from the couch with “Really, Krisko, you could let us help you…” 

Kris, Nace and Jure all looked to where Bojan was already further slumping into the sofa.

“Which part of ‘just let me do this’ did you not get, Boki?” Kris asked and Nace threw Bojan a sympathetic look before going back to scrolling on his phone.

Kris swivelled back around and typed even more aggressively into the laptop.

Jure pursed his lips and wandered over to the shelf closest to Kris, inspecting the books for a moment. Then he very casually stepped behind the younger man and brought his arms around his shoulders, placing a kiss to the top of his head, soft hair tickling his face.

Kris turned around, presumably to scowl at him, but Jure simply stepped around him, plopping down right in the younger man’s lap. 

He smiled at the guitarist’s disgruntled face and pressed a short kiss to his lips, pulling back briefly to see how Kris was narrowing his eyes at him, probably about to tell him off for interrupting but Jure simply moved back in, pressing another kiss to his lips.

After a beat, Kris’ lips moved hesitantly against his own, arms wrapping around Jure’s waist and dragging up his spine in a familiar slide. 

Jure grinned into the kiss as Kris’ lips fell open with a tiny moan, the soft sound making Jure trail his hands up to tangle in the soft hair at the nape of the younger man’s neck, his eyes sliding shut. 

He hummed, making the guitarist tilt his head a little to the side and enjoyed the way Kris pulled him closer against his chest, hands sliding up under Jure’s t-shirt to knead at the muscles in his back. 

When Jure felt the man in his arms relax he started trailing kisses towards his ear, nipping at the earlobe and saying in a low voice, “So are you gonna let us help you now?” 

Kris made a sound in the back of his throat before taking a deep breath. 

“We have to have this sorted before tonight,” he said in a low voice, pressing his face into the crook of Jure’s neck.

“Okay,” Jure pressed a kiss to his temple, “tell us what we’re looking for and we can sort this, okay?” 

When Kris nodded and moved in to kiss him again Jure looked over the younger man’s shoulder to where Nace had joined Jan and Bojan on the couch. He got two eager thumbs ups and an agreeing nod.

He let his eyes slide shut again, enjoying the way Kris was clinging to him, enjoying the familiar slide of their mouths for another moment before they’d have to attempt to sort this.
