The S6 storyline and the direction they're taking Bonnie and Jeremy in is so questionable. Bonnie never mentioning Jeremy is completely ooc especially after what happened at the end of last season when she tearfully said her good bye to him over the phone since (according to grams) it was too hard to tell him goodbye to his face because of how much she loves him and If Jeremy doesn't help with the rescue that will be ooc for him as well. He's been the only one actively mourning her. Would they actually expect us to believe that Jeremy doesn't want to help?The same Jeremy who was ready to get himself killed protecting Bonnie before they had a real first date. It doesn't add up. If Julie Plec is really ignoring and destroying 5 seasons of canon to cater to Kat and Ian's desire to hang out together on set then I hope she never gets hired to run another show ever again. Slopy irresponsible writing like this is the reason the show has been ran straight into the ground. Enjoy your dying ratings Julie, you deserve them.

Listen up, kitties....

I never get involved in these things (as a rule), but I feel like some of you lovely people are losing your mind, so I’ll interject with these assuring words:

Klaroline pandering will resume shortly and the entire cast, alongside JP will be singing a very different tune all summer long. I promise you!

The CW PR department is not blind, the CBS HQ employs both market tracking and pr specialists, who are actually good at their jobs. I know some of you are shocked to discover this, but you have to remember that all notes are given only to executive producers and in rare cases publicists and they advise their employee/ client how to adjust their behavior, but the bottom line is no one can order anyone to stop being disrespectful asshat (also the fish always starts smelling from the head, i.e. if the big boss is dismissive towards a group, the rest of the food chain will emulate that behavior immediately as a preservation mechanism - that's basic human psychology). The facts are that the tide of negative comments and mentions outweighs the positives by a significant margin at this point (and normally they are at 65/35 ratio in favor of praise) – this gets noticed ALWAYS, combined with the lack of free (not purchased by the CW) positive reviews and recaps in the major publications and the lukewarm ratings heading into the finale - it's inevitable that a change is on its way.  

About this Carina Mackenzie person - it is very unusual for someone with journalism background to lack self-awareness in these matters (or not to have people around who will advise her to at least shut her twitter account for a while). Fandoms have elephant memories that can follow you for quite a while and it's generally not advisable to become notorious for something other than your writing - just ask Aaron Sorkin (or his publicist) how he's enjoyed the last five years of his media exposure and if it had an impact on his sense of self. Also, she is just a staff writer with no credits to her name - it's like fighting with the barista at Starbucks for the right to order pumpkin soy ice coffee after Christmas – it’s pointless, because they don’t get to decide ANYTHING. Hit the ignore button and thank your deity that you are not a petty, insecure person, susceptible to the downfalls of the smallest amount of power in TV writing imaginable. Trust me if she’s not regretting her comments already, its coming. This business is cruel and thankless (even for those that enjoy multitudes of loyal fans).

So keep calm and read some fanfiction, enjoy the inventive work of some kick ass designers on your dash or watch some Klaroline videos (I have to recommend the amazing "Caroline coming to the Originals" trailer – it was floating on my dash yesterday – just outstanding!)

From Julie Plec EW interview:

“There are sub rules to the crossover,” Plec says, “which is don’t do it to be stunty. Don’t do it for publicity reasons. Don’t do it to be too clever for your own good. Do it because it feels right for story and it feels right for character.” Also, don’t do it too soon: “First, you’ve got to make sure you get all these characters that you’re serving firmly planted.”

“It would be unfair to get an audience so invested in couplings and relationships and the histories of these characters that we’re taking to their own world and act as though they never happened,” Plec says. “So the goal is to, without alienating a new audience who has no clue who these people are, still be respectful. If we were just breaking this first episode clean without all the history, there would be romance in it for Klaus. But because there’s still unfinished business with Caroline — even if he doesn’t mention her by name in the first episode or two — he is by no means going to be jumping into any kind of romantic relationship in the very beginning. So we’ve had to find romance and passion and those beautiful moments that I love so much in other ways.”

Translation: although I've created something by accident that you apparently love and now I'm about to give you the finger, please, please tune it, cause I've just realized that you, my core audience, might not be so naive as to follow me. Pander away, Julie Plec! I'll believe it when I see it!
