Hello guys! It's finally August, which means that summer break will come to an end pretty soon and a lot of us will be starting a new school year a few weeks (or days) from now. preparing for the first day can get pretty hectic (a mixture of dread + excitement for most of us, esp me!), but here are some ideas that may *hopefully* address all of our back-to-school woes + prep ourselves for the days to come.
1. start a back-to-school glow up routine.
-we all want to look good + feel great on the first day of school. plus, starting a glow-up routine two weeks or maybe even days before can boost confidence + make people have a good impression of you. this routine could be anything from staying hydrated to shopping, it's all up to you!
2. practice your handwriting + learn calligraphy
-changing up your handwriting can take time and for those who want to change their handwriting, we might as well start practicing now. better late than never, i suppose. learning calligraphy will take time as well, but we can all agree that it does add a dollop of pretty to school notes.
3. make sure your school uniform fits comfortably on you
-if you wear a uniform, make sure it fits well and that you feel comfortable wearing it. necessary adjustments can be made a week before.
4. start a bullet journal
-it's nice to jot down the stuff you need to personally prepare for, the dates + events on your school calendar, your class schedule, trackers and upcoming assignments + projects. this will keep you organized + productive before + during the school year.
5. start a studyblr / studygram
-this is what i did. starting a studyblr or a studygram can keep you accountable on your studying habits. besides that, there are a lot of people in this community who will motivate you + are super friendly. you could also join fun challenges like #100DaysofProductivity, that will keep you motivated + productive.
6. clean out your backpack
-if you haven't done this yet, you probably should. take out last year's trash (solitary paperclips, crumpled paper, pens that don't work anymore etc) in order to air out your backpack + make new room for new school supplies (yay)
7. clean out your pencil case
-take stock of what's still usable, what isn't and what you need to get. that way, you won't overbuy stuff you don't actually need. also, take the time to clean your pencil case as well. clean out the gunk (pencil shavings + ink stains).
-this is my favorite. buy supplies you know you'll need for the upcoming year. most schools give out a list of supplies that will be needed.
9. start fixing your sleep sched
-sleep earlier than usual so you're guaranteed not to oversleep. but, do get enough of sleep as well!
-cleaning your room and maybe even redecorating your study space can give you motivation for the school year. you could get a new study desk, hang some fairy lights on your wall, pin some world maps or place a succulent on your study table to jazz things up.
11. learn how to fix up some quick, easy + healthy lunch, breakfast or snack ideas
-school and food go hand in hand. if you have extra time for it, learning how to fix up some quick lunch/bfas/snack ideas can help if you have plans on staying fit, healthy or energized throughout the school year. don't forget to pack a bottle of water too!
-it's still summer. Savor the few remaining blissful days until school actually starts.
