[4/23/19] Really can’t believe it’s the last week of classes! I’ve started keeping a diary in German to keep me motivated to learn over the summer. I’m ready for a cozy summer full of reading and long walks.

I have written before about how I study podcasts (I squeeze in time to listen to them several times when I am doing activities such as walking, gym, eating etc.) but I also need to actively sit down and read transcripts, review new vocabulary etc. and then I listen once again to reinforce it. Lastly to review I play the podcast sentence by sentence and repeat it out loud before I archive it. Sometimes I don’t have computer access so must use my phone only. For those times this is how I review. I use a split screen so I can pause the audio file, and if necessary I can look at the transcript, highlight unknown words etc. That’s basically it. When I want to look up the highlighted words I will use a split screen with onenote and pleco

wait i’m also from canada and hs was 4 years? how did u not have to do that?

most high schools in my city are grades 10-12, so it’s 3 years. there’s only a few that combine middle and high school together and so they’re from 7-12. grade 9 is part of middle school!

so my cousins from canada came over last week, which totally derailed my work schedule. i’m currently getting back into the flow of things, and finishing my ap bio assignment and college apps. i’m trying to finish as much as i can by the first week of august so i can really focus on studying for sats, so fingers crossed. anywaysss, my birthday’s in a month and i’m going to be in toronto which is literally my favorite place ever so there’s a good thing :)
