s: you & sanji share an intimate moment after skypiea
cw: none; fluff
───── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ─────
the tiny bathroom was designed to hold no more than more person yet sanji sat on the sink counter using it as his personal ash tray with you standing directly between his legs where he comfortably rests his thighs against your hips, one hand lazily gripping your waist. a slightly battered cigarette laying between his chapped and scabbed lips, using his free hand to occasionally hold his cigarette.
the sound of the strong waves crashing against the going merry, the creaking caused by the wood shifting against each other and the buzzing from the small lamp above sanji’s head is heard inside the quiet room. nami had stated that the strong winds and rain were nothing to be alarmed of, however even in the grand line nothing was for certain so she volunteered for first watch in case things got too unsettling.
sanji’s shirt thrown across the closed toilet seat with his chest exposed fully covered in bandages as you begin to carefully remove them. your fingers delicately sliding across his back and careful not to disturb the burns that litter his skin. anytime you accidentally graze them sanji tenses and uses it as an opportunity to take a hit from his cigarette, masking his pain through sharp inhales as a way to distract you from his pain he’d hate to see his lover worry over his own mistakes.
the balm chopper made is to be applied twice a day so the burns won’t scar and relieve him of any lingering pain. you scoop some in your hand, glancing up at sanji with an apologetic expression, “i’m sorry, this might sting a little.”
“it’s nothing i can’t handle,” he smiles softly giving your waist a squeeze of reassurance. the second your hand meets his chest he’s quick to bring the cigarette back to his lips inhaling sharply. you look back at him feeling incredibly useless but he’s looking away from you, his eyes flickering from the door to the wall before he exhales the smoke above your head so you aren’t breathing it in.
you return your gaze to his chest finding choppers balm amazing as it’s been slowly causing his burns to disappear. you smile to yourself before remembering just exactly how he got in this situation. eneru mercilessly striking both usopp and sanji more than once rendering them almost completely useless, and once again striking sanji with full force after saving nami from his ship.
your movements had unconsciously slowed which peaked sanji’s interest, your eyes matched the storms of outside; dark and brewing. your soft features that he absolutely adored turned sharp and frightening yet even your anger had a hinge of sadness as your lips downturned into a pout, quivering slightly at whatever thoughts your mind is forming.
before he could ask what’s wrong, you’re already turning to look up at him his heart dropping at what he recognized as anger turning out to be grief, the familiar shine in your eyes as you attempt to blink away the tears that you’re so frantically keeping back. he’s quick to throw out his cigarette and placing both of his hands on your cheeks with concern, his thumbs running soothing circles to calm you down. “hey, what’s wrong sweet girl?”
“i’m sorry!” through your choked sobs, quivering lip, and the horrible lump in your throat you’re finally able to speak up. you want nothing more than lean into his chest and apologize over and over again for being nowhere near him during his fight with eneru. if only you hadn’t run along with robin, you could’ve helped sanji and usopp. you were far from the strongest but you’re still able to hold your own. you push yourself back but sanji’s stubborn grip prevents you from slipping away from him, instead he’s wiping your tears away and stroking your hair. “i should’ve been there. i could’ve helped you.”
“hey-“ he pulls you back so you’re looking at him, his eyes are hard and disappointed not at you rather himself for letting someone as beautiful as yourself to worry over someone like him. he gives you a soft smile, “you did everything and more with robin. stop worrying your pretty little head over meat heads like us.”
“but-“
“and who knows, maybe i got hurt so i can keep you all to myself,” sanji hums, his hand slowly moving back down to you cheek. his cold fingers stroking your cheek lightly with a dazed expression; lovesick eyes as he flickers from your eyes to your lips. zoro would have laughed and insulted his dopey face with how ridiculous he looks but he didn’t care and neither did you. he leans in slightly, “who else would strip me naked to rub balm on me? i’m in heaven.”
you couldn’t help but laugh at his words, the atmosphere brightening almost instantly. his words of reassurance going straight to your heart. rather than playing into his tease, you lean into his hand planting a small kiss on his palm. “i’m sure chopper wouldn’t mind helping you but you really shouldn’t hurt yourself, who else would feed us?”
“blind and deaf with one or two arms, ill always make sure to give you everything you deserve,” sanji claims, his eyes turning into hearts at your actions, ignoring the mention of chopper rubbing the balm on him. the sound of your soft laughter and his attempts of stealing kisses from you ring throughout the hallway of the going merry, replacing what was once quiet.
note. truth be told, i’ve been avoiding my homework by writing which explains two post in less than a week. i should probably focus on school … also i really love skypiea and couldn’t help myself. p.p.s taylor’s sweet nothing really set the mood for this which is why it’s so short.

s: zoro and you don’t seem to understand each other well enough
cw: angst
───── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ─────
you knew what you got yourself into the night you and zoro had shared, the security of a relationship with the swordsman who’s only goal is to become the greatest. you’re an understanding person; there’s no zoro without his swordsmanship just like there’s no you without the crew. that night the two of you discussed the conflict that would arise in a potential relationship and yet the two of you were unwavering—diving into each other without hesitation.
and yet as you watch your boyfriend walk onto the ship after yet another difficult expedition on your most recent island; the once full swooning, heart blooming feeling that you’ve once gotten turns into the sound of glass cracking under the intense pressure of heat.
your captain, luffy, turns his shoulder and catches the gaze of zoro on his right. the two share a brief moment before he leads the rest of crew back on the ship. not once does zoro meet yours.
the adventure on this island was nothing more than a test of loyalty; at least it was in your eyes. split into groups and taking down the enemy was something you were used to, you didn’t mind. you can hold your own. but when the time came to save luffy and nami or you and usopp: your mind was busy hoping the man you love would be the hero you’ve always thought he was.
and he is.
just not yours.
you missed the brief exchange between him and sanji, missed the way they communicated with eye contact, missed the way he said ‘i would never leave you’ with his usual stoic face, you had missed it all.
and maybe if you had understood him a little better, you would know why he chose to save luffy over you. leaving you in the arms of another as he runs away from you.
“we’ll meet up with them on the ship,” sanji mutters, the sound of the lighter flickering covering the the sound of shattering coming from your chest. sanji blows out a puff of smoke watching the wave of emotions crash through your eyes. he hums and nudges you, “cmon let’s go.”
usopp gratefully begins to spew about how happy he is that sanji got there before they were ‘dead meat’ (no offense to you) but his skills were needed.
now, as you watch zoro bandage the wounds you got from the island, you notice the distant gaze in his eyes. he still cares, that’s obvious from the delicate touches and his usual hard grip turning feather-like as he wraps your arm. there’s tension in the air—perhaps you’re to blame, but he makes no effort to dispel it.
“don’t try to win something you know you won’t,” zoro mutters softly. his fingers tap on bandage refusing to meet your eyes. and in that moment, hope floods your chest. of course he still cares. he finally moves his head to match your height, “what will the crew do without their favorite seamstress? get some rest.”
and that hope you once had? evaporates as he stands to leave with a kiss against your temple and a slight ruffle of your hair before he disappears out the door of your room. he didn’t notice your sadden eyes or the way they pleaded to give you an once of attention.
“don’t go,” you plead to yourself. if only you understood zoro a little bit better, you would understand why he chose to give you room. and maybe if zoro understood you better, he would know you didn’t want that.
note. oh em gee i haven’t gotten the chance to write so i just threw something together from my drafts. idk it’s just word vomit. there will probably not be a part 2 for this srry
s: you & luffy leisurely enjoy each others company with oranges.
cw: suggestive
───── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ─────
life on the sea has always brought you a sense of tranquility with such idyllic views when you aren’t being chased down my marines or having to navigate through harsh storms and rough waves. it also restores peace between the crew on the ship when everyone’s off doing their own thing.
unfortunately for your usual hyperactive boyfriend, he managed to piss his cook off enough to punish him by pushing him out of the kitchen with three oranges—unpeeled. you couldn’t help but laugh as his predicament as you leaned against the main mast overlooking the ocean with a book in your hand.
“i told you, help me!” luffy cries out annoyed. he throws his back dramatically, the orange he was working on laying in his lap with a huge bite mark. he’s already attempted to bite into it like an apple but the bitter skin caused him to quickly spit it out. he falls back landing perfectly in your lap, “please?”
you laugh to yourself, hiding your smile behind your book, “sanji gave you those to keep you busy until lunch time. it would be cheating if i helped you.”
“he doesn’t have to know,” luffy’s eyes glaze over in a way that would cause you to cave in, you try to ignore it but with the way your heart skips a beat you know it’s useless to fight against it.
sighing you grab the orange from his lap, he’s quick to sit up with a dazzling smile but it quickly fades when you only peel around his bite mark. he raises an eyebrow at you looking completely unimpressed as you hand the orange back, “there. i started it for you, it should be easier now.”
“really?” luffy huffs, rolling his eyes as you nod your head proudly. he shifts so he’s sitting across from you and begins his very difficult and annoying task of peeling his own food. “fine but don’t think i’m gonna share since you want to be mean!”
rather than giving him a reaction you simply hum and return your attention back to your book. your attention only lasts a couple of minutes as you notice it’s been a while since luffys began his theatrics, however as you glance up you take in his focused expression. your eyes dart from his mouth; his tongue slightly sticking out with his eyebrows scrunched together in concentration. the sun does nothing to hide the tiny intricate freckles that decorate his cheeks and nose, his features could rival even the greatest of gods.
the red vest he is so insistent on wearing drapes over his toned arms, flexing ever so slightly whenever he forcibly digs into the orange without a single care of the droplets of juice running down his wrist. you gulp, no longer interested in your book, shivers running down your spine despite laying directly under the scorching sun. you raise your book higher up in order to protect yourself from future embarrassment and hope luffy doesn’t feel your pointed gaze.
‘get a grip’
your voice of reason does nothing to the desire swimming in your lower stomach once your eyes reach luffy’s hands. the thought of finding something ridiculous like hands attractive cause a rush of blood to flood your cheeks, suddenly the temperature rises from both embarrassing and sinful thoughts. you absolutely cannot blame yourself when your boyfriend’s hands were carved by god himself, with the perfect amount of veins running through the back of his hands, his cuticles surprisingly well kept (some overgrown but not undesirable), and he tends to keep his nails short since he has a habit of biting them.
his fingers unskillful rip the orange to shreds as he finally manages to peel the skin away. he smiles proudly at himself and glances up at you, meeting your eyes. your heart drops for a second a feeling of being caught for doing something you shouldn’t have been doing crosses your consciousness yet luffy’s eyes light up at your intense gaze.
your boyfriend might be an idiot at times but he wasn’t stupid. he couldn’t help but wet his lips watching as your gaze instantly drop down to his mouth, rehydrating them to their natural pink color. you gulp slowly putting your book down that was still shielding your face. luffy grins and digs his fingers into the large hole in the orange he made from his bite and splits it in half.
“i guess i can spare some.” luffy hums ripping his orange into slices. you open your mouth to finally speak up, scold him for making such a mess. however, just as you did, luffy’s quick enough to stick a slice of orange in your mouth, his fingers resting on your lips, his intense gaze wanting you to swallow the slice whole, “so?”
you nod unable to speak as you chew the slice droplets of juice leaking from the corner of your mouth. luffy frowns reaching over with his thumb go wipe the juice and you think he’s gonna be childish and clean his fingers on your shirt. instead he pops his thumb into his mouth and hums. that sickly sweet smile ruining the little sanity you had left, “sweet.”
swallowing the orange caused a painful lump in your throat that felt almost impossible to get through. luffy finishes the rest of the orange watching your reaction with a mischievous glint in his eyes. you shift under his gaze unable to speak but the sound of usopp’s laughter in the background snaps you back into reality and you’re ready to scold luffy for his teasing but a strong voice cuts you completely off.
“hey guys, lunch is ready!” sanji’s voice causes both you and luffy to turn over towards the source.
“finally!” luffy laughs and picks up the remaining oranges to hand back to sanji. he leaves you feeling flustered and caught off guard at his actions, before he gets too far he turns to face you, “cmon let’s go! maybe sanji can cut the rest of these oranges for us after!”
he sends you a wink before running off again yelling at the rest of the crew to not eat all the meat. you sigh restlessly and fall back letting the book drape over your face ignoring sanji’s love cries for you the join them. luffy’s incredibly unpredictable.
note. this has been sitting in my drafts for too long & i haven’t posted anything in so long so might as well.
s: dating the general mahamatra comes with insecurities.
cw: none
───── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ─────
you’d like to think you’re a resilient person. teyvat is filled with mysteries and anomalies something you’ve learned to coexist with. you’ve been chased by electro slimes, got rocks thrown from hilichurls, and even punched by those infuriating fungi that hop around sumeru’s forest. you’ve prevailed and proudly call yourself an adventurer, it was even enough to be invited by the traveller herself to investigate some of her own journeys. that was proof enough that you’re confident in your own abilities. you were even able to grab the general mahamatra’s attention (albeit some help from lumine but you don’t need to know that).
even so, why is it, as you sit at a wooden table not far from the chief’s home, do you feel completely defeated? climbing the cliffs of sumeru’s deserts seemed much more interesting than having to sit by and wait for your partner to finish discussing some matters with aaru village’s protector.
your fingers tap the table in an impatient manner as your elbow is probed up with your chin sitting comfortably on your palm. that resilient personality you were so confident in seemed to dissipate the second cyno walked up to candace. she’s an amazing women with everyone in the village trusting her and she does everything in her power to make sure things go smoothly.
this wasn’t your first meeting with candace but this time around you couldn’t help but compare the two. their color schemes from their outfits matched beautifully, their positions of power would be enough to scare someone straight, their strength, their auras, their —
“if you keep staring at him like that you won’t need a pyro vision to set him on fire,” a voice from behind cause your movements to pause. with wide eyes and mouth agape you turn to find dehya smirking knowingly at you.
you groan and bury your face into your palms, “this is so embarrassing.”
“and why’s that?” dehya questions opting to seat herself right next to you. she was around to visit candace as usual and she couldn’t help but notice the way you longingly stared at the general mahamatra. “it’s not like you guys aren’t already together, what’s the harm in staring?”
“i’m just—“ you pause unable to figure out the right choice of words to describe your current predicament. you sigh defeated and turn to look at the two again, “i don’t feel good enough to stand next to him.”
“oh?” dehya hums suddenly engrossed at the topic at hand. her eyebrow raises in a way that says ‘are-you-serious-right-now’, “listen, i don’t know much about the adventure’s guild but they’ve always spoken highly of you, especially the traveller. what’s up with this attitude?”
“i don’t know. i don’t have any fancy moves or a title to my name, if it hadn’t been for the traveller, i don’t even think i would’ve gotten to chance to befriend the people i know now,” you rant feeling embarrassed at the location you’re spilling your heart out. you continue, unable to stop, “am i really the right choice for cyno? wouldn’t he better off with someone like candace? or even the traveller.”
a second goes by of silence before dehya is suddenly giggling softly to herself. your face heats up, a warm red glow radiating from your face, “dehya! i’m being serious.”
“i’m sorry! i didn’t mean it like that!” dehya apologizes, waving herself off. she clears her throat and speaks softly to you, “if the general mahamatra didn’t think you were good enough to be around, he wouldn’t be glued to your side 24/7. he doesn’t hesitate to beat guys up for the akademiya, i doubt he would go out with just anyone.”
her words seemed to struck a nerve in your heart and you smiled thankfully at dehya, but she continues, “also, i don’t think candace wants someone intimidating as him around her village.”
you open your mouth to defend cyno but another voice stops you, “candace is grateful for my methods.”
the hairs on your neck stand turning to find cyno with his arms crossed staring blanking at a smirking dehya. his gaze shifts to you it instantly softens causing you to blush with a small smile, he speaks up, “i’m finished discussing matters with candace, if you’re ready we can depart now.”
“oh! yeah, i’m ready!” you quickly stand hitting your knee on the table but you don’t give yourself time to react before you turn to dehya, “thank you for keeping me company. we’ll be leaving now!”
as you start to leave, a hand on your wrist stops your movements and you turn around curiously. cyno points to the book you had long abandoned on the table. you had brought it with you to keep yourself distracted when cyno was busy, it was a book you had borrowed from tighnari and you both knew if you left it, he would have both of your heads.
“oh!” you gasp but cyno is quick enough to grab it for you. you smile toothy at him and squeeze his hand that traveled down to your palm, “thank you! now, let’s go! i wanna see nilou’s performance before it’s too late!”
he hums and bids dehya goodbye. the two of you leave hand in hand out of the desert and you couldn’t help but smile to yourself, all of your previous worries and insecurities disappearing at the mere feeling of cyno’s warm hand intertwined with your own. dehya couldn’t have been any more right, no one in a million years would have imagined the general mahamatra being completely docile and soft with someone else and only you. anyone who’s eyes wandered off towards the two would immediately get shone with the terrifying and infamous hard glare from him.
as the two of you continue your way back to the city with no one around he speaks up, “you know i wouldn’t pick anyone but you.”
“what?” your heart drops knowing that his creepy but impressive hearing didn’t let your conversation go unnoticed.
“you were the first person to laugh at my jokes,” cyno shrugs nonchalantly. he pauses his movements and turns to you and the softest smile you’ve seen grace his face. “it will always and only ever be you. never doubt my judgement.”
note: i’m so in love with cyno y’all do not understand. i need him.
note: this was written at the same time I was listening to the weeknd so it's something quick nothing too in depth.
words were never easy for someone willing to put distance between himself and the rest of humanity. Centuries of shooing away the mortals while protecting them and keeping them at an arm's length have always been his idea of peace. It was the only way to keep them and himself safe, especially with his karmic debt.
You have always been a fickle mortal, never understanding or caring about the invisible barrier he puts up between himself and you. No matter what he says or does, you squeeze yourself into his mind, presence, and heart. You weren't easy to push away or keep close, you came and went wherever the wind would take you. Another reason he tries to ignore your everlasting effect on his poor heart, he attempts to reason with himself. You are no good, his karmic debt is too strong, and his line of duty would never allow him to grow soft (even beyond the fact that Morax told him he no longer holds a contract).
Somehow, no matter how far or long you're gone, his mind always wanders off toward you - your safety, and your well-being. His attempts of ignoring the feeling he is oh so afraid of never seem to disperse the way he would like. Even his attempts to let you know what would come between them if you choose to stay by his side never seem to push you away. Ever so adamant to stay, no matter the consequences.
Perhaps that's why, as he explains his plan to the traveler leaving this cave, his eyes find yours as you converse with yanfei. He would die for you. A long-celebrated yaksha would drop everything for a simple, free-willed mortal like yourself. He couldn't explain it. His feelings were final. The traveler attempted to push that narrative away from his mind but it didn't matter, xiao had his mission settled, there would be no other way but that.
And now as you stare at xiao right when everyone is slowly being sent back to the surface, your eyes are filled with tears in an instant realizing his plan all along, hatred and pain are quickly flashed but not towards him, instead for yourself. How could you ever place your trust and love towards someone so quickly willing to sacrifice himself?
Xiao isn't quick enough to decipher the meaning of your hatred-filled eyes but he hopes you don't blame him for such selfish methods. He would never be able to live with himself if anything had happened to you down here where his fellow yaksha died. He would have done anything, anything, for you and your safety.
synopsis: sharing a dessert couldn't taste any sweeter than this moment.
word count: 645
note: xiao isn't all stoic and i'm determined to destroy that image of him. also this is the first fic i've written in such a long time so you're gonna have to excuse my awkward transitions and style. i swear i'll get better.
Nothing sounded more peaceful than the loud croaks of the frogs and the wind softly whispering its secrets into the darkness. With the opening of the inn's kitchen window, you felt the soft breeze brush your arms causing goosebumps to arise on the spot. You made a mental note to thank Smiley for allowing you to use his area so late just as you accidentally knocked over some eggs as you retrieved the sweet surprise you saved for tonight.
"Be careful," A stern voice from behind you orders in a soft tone. You jolt at the surprise, knocking down two more eggs and cracking on the wooden floor. It's silent for a moment before the figure sighs in defeat and kneels beside you to clean the mess.
"Xiao! You aren't supposed to be in here," You retort, clumsily placing the dessert on the counter to help him clean the mess you made. You were almost 100% sure the yaksha was supposed to be busy around this time which gave you more than enough to get everything ready.
"Why not?" Xiao questions with genuine curiosity. The both of you stood up, making sure to keep the dessert away from his view.
You blink meekly at him, attempting to keep the dessert a surprise. While it might've seemed useless to surprise him with almond tofu, it was your first time making the dessert with a very detailed recipe from Smiley. Unable to come up with an excuse you turn your head slightly to look at the almond tofu.
You've seen the way Xiao makes his on special occasions and your presentation somehow didn't live up to his. The sliced almonds look sad and the osmanthus syrup you poured over ruined the color. Xiao seemed to grow impatient with his stance becoming bored awaiting your response. He still hasn't seen the almond tofu.
You turn around to pick up the dessert, it looks sadder up close. You turn back around keeping it behind you and whisper softly at him with solemn eyes, "Can we go to the rooftop?"
He nods and leads the two of you upstairs. You almost want to scream at the moon for seemingly teasing you with its beauty. So bright and full. In contrast to your attempt at almond tofu.
"I know it's not the best but what's a better way to celebrate the full moon than this," The full moon was nothing more than a diversion than the truth of simply wanting to cook for him. Your mumbles are blocked slightly by the almond tofu you used to cover your blushed cheeks.
Xiao's eyes widen at the surprise in front of him, he usually doesn't enjoy eating human food that isn't made by Smiley and even then he tends to stick with almond tofu. However, the mere sight of your hard work to perfect his one delicacy is enough to cause his heart to blossom. The two of you haven't been together very long but he knew you were one he'd want to spend his forever with even his insecurities and doubts cloud his mind, surprises like these is enough to bury those thoughts for a moment.
Before he could even speak he gently lowers the plate to see your whole face and smiled softly, a reserved smile he hasn't used in a long time. With his hands resting softly on yours he notices the small blanket you must have laid out hours before his arrival and tugs you towards the spot.
"Thank you," He speaks softly handing you one of the small spoons you had bought at a local shop for a special occasion. The almond tofu was sweetened enough for his taste and yet for some reason, the taste of watching the full moon with his favorite person couldn't be any sweeter than the tofu you had made for him.
