It's dancing with the inevitable. Junsu has secrets and Kibum does too, and it's only a matter of time before one of them explodes with the pressure. 

It's thinly veiled insults that don't hold any weight in them except for when they do, cutting through layers of defense until Kibum can't remember what it's like to be on the offense anymore. 

It's questions without answers, locks with keys, and they're working through it, piece by piece until they have a full puzzle in front of them. 

It's exhausting. 

But it's perfect. It's sleeping soundly at night. It's holding onto something that makes sense. It's laughing at himself in a way he hasn't been able to laugh before. It's something that Kibum can't begin to question because, for all his interrogation techniques, he doesn't know how.

"You're awake." The voice is familiar, husky with sleep, and comes from somewhere beside him but Kibum hasn't actually opened his eyes yet too take in his surroundings. 

"I am." 

"You had a dream." 

"I did." Silence presses down on them from all sides, waiting for one to give up. Junsu props himself up on one elbow, staring down at Kibum. He can't see it, but he can feel the movement of the bed beside him, sensing eyes searching his features. 

"The same?" Kibum opens his eyes now, but doesn't look at the other. 

"Yea. The same." He says with a shuddering sigh and it's so easy to let go of everything when he no longer has to try to hold himself up. Junsu can handle whatever Kibum throws at him because so can Kibum and really, that's the only thing holding them together. 

It's bitter. It's sweet.

Kibum doesn't know which one he wants.
