Could you please do #31 with a Jungkook tattooist au? Jungkook and tattoos is literally the death of me.
hello! it’s finally here and i hope you like it! thanks so much for requesting!
31. “I’m trying to flirt with you.”
WORD COUNT: 1,643
You hated needles, you always had. ‘Get a tattoo!’ your best friend Namjoon had said. ‘The pain isn’t even that bad!’ He said, thus convincing you to finally get the tattoo you’d always wanted but were too scared to get. Sitting in the waiting room you heard the needle buzzing, but the person being tattooed probably had a very high pain tolerance judging by the lack of screams filling the atmosphere.
“Y/N you don’t have to get one if you don’t want to, I won’t hold it against you if you back down now.” Namjoon whispered in your ear, a worried smile tugging at his plump lips.
If there was one thing worth noting about yours and Namjoon’s friendship it was that you two were polar opposites. You met him in college five years ago and even back then he was outgoing and loud, his tanned dewy skin resembling an intricate adult colouring book, and you were nothing like him. You were quiet, reserved, and your skin was ink-free. Until today.
“I’m fine.” You choked out, your voice shaking as you heard the tattooist wrap up with his current client, instructing him to leave the cling film on his arm for at least a day. You briefly looked up at the man who was leaving the studio with a satisfied smile, cling film taped securely round his freshly inked forearm.
“You don’t look fine—“
“Namjoon? It’s good to see you man!” The tattooist, tall, muscular and brunette smiled.
“Yeah sorry it’s been a while, things have been crazy at work y’know? Can barely get time out of the studio these days.” Namjoon stood from the tiny black leather sofa, giving the other man what looked like a typical ‘bro-hug’. Both of their arms were filled with artwork and stories, but where Namjoon’s sleeves were brightly coloured and loud, the tattooist’s sleeves were all black and the drawings were different, sinister even.
“Don’t worry about it, what can I do for you?” His smile was brighter than the sun, you noted. His hair had started to curl due to the humid weather, and his tight black shirt and skinny jeans combination didn’t leave much to the imagination. You had to peel your eyes away from his thick thighs when you noticed him eyeing you curiously with surprised eyebrows.
“I didn’t take you for the matching couples tattoo kind of guy.” He smirked, his gaze shifting between your seated figure and Namjoon, who looked equally surprised by his statement.
“We’re not a thing, she’s just a friend Jungkook. In fact she’s like an annoying little sister.” Namjoon awkwardly scratched the back of his neck as he looked over at you, “This is her first tattoo so I offered to—“
“Say no more.” The man you now knew as Jungkook nodded understandingly, the cocky smirk still present on his lips. “What’s your name sweetheart?”
“Y/N.”
“Cute.” His eyes glistened with mischief as he avoided Namjoon’s frown, eyes fixed solely on you. “What can I do for you today?” He made his way over to you, sitting himself in your friend’s old seat with a smile.
“Oh umm—“ You couldn’t ignore the way your stomach fluttered with nerves as his knee grazed yours, just the sight of his strong arms crossed over his broad chest was enough to make your mouth dry up, your heart quickening. “I’d like a tattoo…of a bee, a worker bee. If you could do that—“
“A bee?” Jungkook pinched his brows together, his sharp features inquisitive.
“Yeah, as in a worker bee…not like the letter b—“
“Relax baby I know what you mean.” He teased, gently elbowing you in the side. “I can do that! Whereabouts is he going?”
“She wants it on the side of her ribs, below her …chest.” Namjoon chuckled from behind the counter, mindlessly flicking through a gallery of designs. “I’ve told her not to get her first tattoo somewhere like that, but she won’t listen.”
The two men exchanged a knowing look before Jungkook scoffed, his eyes wide. “And how big do you want him to be?”
“Umm like the size of my fist? Is that too big—“
“There’s no such thing as too big. How’s your pain tolerance Y/N?” He asked, and Namjoon snorted.
“Tolerance? She doesn’t have a tolerance for pain, she’s a pussy, plus she’s scared of needles.”
“Thanks Namjoon.” You mumbled and rolled your eyes, somewhat embarrassed and exposed as a wimp.
“Nobody likes needles, but I won’t lie to my customers. It will hurt, quite a bit too if you have a shitty pain tolerance.” Jungkook laughed, but his eyes were warm and kind. “But if you still want to go ahead with it I’ll draw something up for you now.”
“I’m sure.”
Regret. Stone cold, bitter tasting, overwhelming regret.
“We’re nearly done here, don’t worry.” Jungkook sounded concerned, you were trying your hardest to stop your body from tensing up but the pain was so unbearable that you couldn’t focus on anything else, not even the sound of Namjoon’s voice.
“It looks good Y/N, Jungkook is a real pro at tattoos, he’s done all of mine.” He said with a fond smile, though there was traces of worry in his eyes. You were flat on your back with your shirt pulled up, the lower part of your pale pink bra exposed.
“Mhm… I’m sure I’ll think better of him when he isn’t inflicting pain on me.” You laughed nervously, praying to every higher power that he would be done soon.
“Hey you came into my shop and asked me to do this babe, don’t pretend like you didn’t want it.” Jungkook stopped his movements momentarily to take a sip of canned his energy drink.
“Oh are we done?” You turned to face the artist surprised, your cheeks reddening when you caught him hungrily eyeing your body.
“Almost, but I need you to er… Take off your bra please. So I can add his antennas.” He seemed almost as nervous as you.
“I’ll just be outside…” Namjoon smiled, “I don’t want to see that.” He laughed before moving the screen, pulling it round to cover you and Jungkook once he was out of sight.
Reaching round your back you unclasped your bra, silently thanking yourself for opting to go strapless that day. As the lingerie came off your body the cold air swirled round your nipples, causing them to harden and show through your shirt.
“Is this okay?” You asked Jungkook, dragging up your shirt just enough to show half of your breasts but still cover your nipples.
“Fuck… I mean, yeah. Uh, that’s great thanks.”
“How long have you been a tattooist?” You looked up at him through long eyelashes, curiosity getting the better of you.
“Licensed? Almost six years. Technically I’ve being tattooing a lot longer than that, but we don’t talk about that during work hours.” He chuckled, his eyes fixed on his work as he pressed the tattoo gun to your skin.
“Speaking of, why are you guys open so late?” You frowned, “I bet your girlfriend gets lonely if you work this late every day…”
“I don’t have a girlfriend.” He pulled the needle away from your skin and looked you in the eye, “But my ex girlfriend didn’t mind, it meant she had more time to fuck my brother before I got home.”
“Oh Jungkook… I’m—, I didn’t know—“
“It’s fine, it was a long time ago.” He smiled before dipping the needle into some more ink and heading back to work. You flinched at the pressure of the gun but to your surprise Jungkook stopped, his eyes wide. “You okay?”
“Yeah, it just hurts more up there…” You admitted shyly.
“Don’t worry we’re almost done, I promise.”
“And about your ex girlfriend, it’s her loss. You seem like a really great guy. She’s a real idiot to cheat on someone like you.” Your voice was shakier than you initially wanted, but you hoped he’d get the hint regardless.
“What are you saying?” He chuckled, wiping down your skin before going back in with the needle.
“I’m trying to flirt with you.” You sighed, eyes squeezed shut with embarrassment.
“Oh!” He smiled brightly, “Well in that case how about we go for a drink next week? I was going to wait until you put your bra back on to ask you out, you’re a client and I didn’t want to make you feel uncomfortable... But seeing as though you—“
“How’s it looking?!” Namjoon shouted from the other end of the studio, cutting over Jungkook.
“Really good! You should give your friend here a bit more credit, she’s doing great.”
“Thanks…” You mumbled awkwardly, “Namjoon has my number, text me the details about that drink.”
“Don’t worry I definitely will… Right we’re all done here, want to take a look at it before I wrap it up?”
You nodded eagerly, looking directly into the mirror he held next to you. The bee was perfect, the shading and the fine lines in the design made it look elegant and effortless, and there was no denying that Jungkook was crazy talented.
“Oh my— I love it!” You squealed, “I love it so much! Thank you!”
“Pleasures all mine sweetheart, but can I ask, why a bee?” He wiped down the tattoo one last time before wrapping it with cling film and taping the surrounding area.
“Worker bees, to me, show unity and teamwork. It’s reminder to myself that I can’t do everything alone, and that shutting people out isn’t always the best thing to do. Sometimes it’s good to be part of a team.”
“Beautiful.” Jungkook whispered with a smile.
“It really is! Thank you so—“
“I wasn’t talking about the tattoo… But in all honesty I don’t think I can wait until next week. What’re you doing tonight?”
