Junior Derby
#1: It sounds like regular derby.
#2: Confusion, tears, vomit... yep.
One of my favorite things about working with junior derby is that the struggles are so different from the ones I often face while scrimmaging. While it is sometimes difficult to find a willing jammer AND back-up jammer in a group of five adult skaters, a group of five kids will probably also be a group of five skaters hoping to jam.
As soon as one of them DOES have the star on their head, convincing them to pass it if they're not lead or call off the jam if they are is the real struggle, because why would you want to only be the jammer for LESS THAN two minutes? :D
we rocked our roller derby bout yesterday, we won 360 to 93 and we have a bout a week from today.
