some things might’ve changed as it’s been a while but,, and the lore for the new friends wasn’t ever really created so this is just the main seven
BASIC LORE:
XIMENA: grew up in cape suzette until bullying caused her family to move. made friends with juniper who defended her and urged her to tell her parents. moving to st. canard, she eventually met ozzy, who was sitting out in the balcony smoking a cigarette. he saw her staring, and the two eventually met and became friends overtime as she let him break through her walls since she felt bad for him. she met louie through ozzy- thus, meeting everyone else. probably the only person with a completely healthy family dynamic.
JUNIPER: spotting a little girl getting bullied, juniper stepped in and gave herself the title of protector and best friend of ximena. after juniper’s parents divorced due to falling out of love (this is after ximena moved away) her mother eventually met a guy who preyed on juniper. he kickstarted an eating disorder and make creepy comments towards her. from another city, ximena helped however she could, urging juniper to tell someone like she urged her to about her bullying. by sheer luck, the day he decides to assault her (as he deemed her pretty enough), her mother came home and caught him. breaking up with him on the spot and calling the authorities, she called her ex husband for support. juniper’s parents fell back in love and remarried. her mother is constantly trying to make it up to her daughter, event if juniper says that it’s okay. juniper met everyone else through ximena, including meeting ozzy a few times before he met louie.
OZZY: he has never seen a healthy display of love ever since he can remember. his (young) mother was never around due to working, and his father was a playboy and always out with some other woman. when she was home, his mother would excuse his fathers behavior and his father would make passive aggressive remarks. as ozzy got older, he recognized the problems in his family life and quickly became depressed. one day, his father left behind some cigarettes (accidentally taken from a hookup) and ozzy, knowing what they were, decided to try them. the addiction came quick, as it numbed him. the first time, ximena caught him and she kept him company when he was lonely. eventually, his father caught him, and ozzy realized he could extort money out of his father. one night, ozzy lured louie into an alleyway and attempted to flirt, copying what he’d seen from the movies his father seemed to like. it went not as planned, but he and louie kept in contact. he knows louie’s feelings aren’t not returned, but that won’t stop him from loving him anyway.
EVERETT: his parents are children of immigrants who have held most of the same values of their parents. they expect him to be hardworking when he simply isn’t and would rather hone his skills in technology, something they don’t understand. at school in cape suzette, he was unexpectantly dragged to a drama club meeting by an excited whittany to join. she kept trying to get him to join, and he finally relented, managing lights and such. over time, he realized he and whittany aren’t so different and began to develop a major crush on the girl who essentially changed his lonely life. his parents don’t accept her, though. he doesn’t care. he met louie through whittany- thus meeting everyone else.
WHITTANY: born into a huge and wealthy family (though not nearly as much as the McDuck clan), her family legacy isn’t as wholesome(?) as theirs. her mother is the head of the house and demands a good image without actually caring for her kids. this means she go as far as to hide atrocities her children commit. whittany’s father follows in her footsteps, rarely pushing back against her demands. she keeps up the totally happy facade, though. joining the drama club to freely express negative emotions, she spots a boy sitting alone in the library after school. he is notorious for being alone and unfriendly, and whittany decides to make him her project. she drags him continuously to meetings and interrupts his alone time until the two become genuine friends. he helps her get rid of the fake friends she has, too. she develops feelings once he shows her the sweet side of himself. she meets louie at a gala for the rich, where she complains about her family issues, with louie ranting about his own family. the two banter, and become good friends.
DOTTIE: given up at birth to a gang in exchange for a paid off house and easy beginning to adulthood, dottie spent her youth in an unforgiving environment. assaulted and groomed, dottie became one of the top members of her age bracket and quite feared. despite this, she was miserable. making close friends and surrogate sisters with a deer named snow. on one mission in her preteen years, dottie was at a breaking point. louie noticed and offered her to come hide away with him (his family was on a mission of their own and he wanted to get away). they become friends, and he ends up running into her every time he goes to st. canard, even talking people like fenton out of arresting her. she was actually the last person added to the friend group. her friends help her get out of the gang (and to further disband it) and reunite her with her birth parents (who never wanted to give her up but had to since they had no other options). her parents want to make it up to her, always. sometimes they can’t believe their first daughter found her way home.
HUNTER: once in a very loving family, he was unfortunately the only survivor of a car crash. placed in the system, he spent a year in the foster system and was eventually placed in the care of two women. they eventually adopted him and once again gave him a loving and supportive home. now living in duckburg, he is placed in a class with louie. usually, louie and huey do projects and assignments together, but with huey gone for a day, louie decided to buddy up with hunter. becoming friends, louie picked hunter even when huey was there. he was the first to know who louie’s family was, having been living in duckburg and getting news firsthand. he thought everyone else knew, which is why he was quite shocked when the group chat blew up following the invasion of the moon and the interviews started going around.

as just something general:
beakley tolerates them, though there are some she likes more than others
della is capable of getting along with each of them with some time, though things are a little rough when the kids are preteens due to louie's vents and her kind of pushy attempts to get to know/along with them
donald, having a decade of experience, does better with the kids overall; there are still things he can't quite grasp, though, and he can be overprotective
launchpad doesn't have too much of an opinion on the kids, but the kids have varying opinions of him
OZZY
- beakley: she wants him far away from webby and would like him not on the mansion premises, but if he brings louie joy (and as long as he abides by louie's rule about cigarettes), then she'll just keep a close eye on him; he thinks she's too strict, but damn, does he love her cooking
- della: right away, there is tension between them as ozzy is very biased against della because of louie's dramatic tellings; she doesn't know about that so she tries the hardest to get along with ozzy and he finds her a try-hard because of that
- donald: ozzy likes him a lot, and even though he finds it annoying, he appreciates it when donald gives him a pack of candy cigarettes every time he comes to the mansion
- launchpad: ozzy sees him as a big dumb lug- but a lovable big dumb lug
JUNIPER
- beakley: she likes her cooking and always appreciates a good badass woman; beakley quickly becomes exhausted of her since juniper's like webby high on sugar 24/7, but in a lot of ways she reminds her of her granddaughter, so she tolerates it
- della: while juniper isn't as biased against her, there are still some things she doesn't like or trust about her- she'll oftentimes make a quick remark that hurts della, but then follow up with a "but..." statement; della loves her and her unrestrained adventurous spirit
- donald: he likes her brutal honesty, even if it hurts sometimes; she adores nurturing people, and a lot of times will go to him with trauma-related things when her parents aren't available
- launchpad: they exchange mechanical tips and work on things together- they teach each other things
ADEN
- beakley: she finds him incredibly infuriating as he was able to figure out webby wasn't her granddaughter in the matter of weeks in knowing her along with some other secrets of hers- once he lets her know he has no intention of blackmailing her or telling anyone else, they actually get along and she enlists his help in fishing out f.o.w.l.; he finds her interesting
- della: he doesn't interact (and doesn't really let her) with her much, choosing to keep his distance and figure her out like a rubik's cube; della notices he helps beakley with things and its actually kind of a blow on her self-esteem since even beakley can get along with someone
- donald: donald isn't a fan of being able to be figured out so easily by a child, but a part of him wishes they had someone like him when della first went missing; the more aden looks into him, the more he likes him
- launchpad: aden thinks it's commendable that someone so bumbling like launchpad can help out drake in all his crimefighting and wishes to help solve the crimes; launchpad usually mistakes him for quoting mystery movies and replicating movie scenes when he's legitimately doing detective-like things
EVERETT
- beakley: they enjoy the peace and quiet that comes with the other; they like to talk about the burning world around them
- della: he's dry with her as he is with most everyone- but he doesn't treat her with any hostility
- donald: everett's dry with him as he is with most everyone- but he doesn't treat him with any hostility and appreciates his attempts of hospitality
- launchpad: neutral on both ends
XIMENA
- beakley: they love each other and ximena can be found in the kitchen with her during dinner time, preparing sweets
- della: ximena treats everything said both ways with a grain of salt; she's aware of the hurt that's been inflicted, but she's a big believer of second chances and people changing; della thinks she's sweet
- donald: she personally took the time to teach donald to cook certain things- they exchanged stories about their families and donald emphasizes with her
- launchpad: they're just two little dorks going on with their days
KIWI
- beakley: kiwi knows webby isn't her granddaughter, but she, too, isn't going to tell anyone- she isn't as close as aden is, but there's a mutual respect of sorts; kiwi reminds beakley of webby in some aspects
- della: kiwi likes to keep an open mind, so she freely gets along with della; della likes her enthusiasm and joy
- donald: they like each other, though there isn't anything notable to write home about
- launchpad: kiwi thinks he's funny
NIX
- beakley: mutual dislike; nix doesn't like how strictly protective beakley is
- della: nix has a very strong dislike for della for the whole glomtales thing- this opinion sticks around for a while; della tends to steer clear a bit since nix looks like she wants to kill her half the time
- donald: nix feels about him the complete opposite of della- yes, he may be too protective at times, but it isn't as strict as beakley; donald wishes she didn't see his sister the way she does
- launchpad: neutral on both ends
DEAN
- beakley: dean, in a way, looks up to her- though, he does agree that she's too strict; beakley sees a reflection of webby in him- but not in the good way
- della: dean sought her out behind nix's back and the two got along through talks of space
- donald: dean loves how protective and loving he is- it makes him wish he had donald as an uncle instead of his actual one
- launchpad: they weirdly have deep talks that launchpad usually forgets about, but it lets dean let out some steam without much of a risk of it being found out; launchpad doesn't actually forget about them, but he'd never let dean know that
ASH
- beakley: beakley does not like them; ash likes her food
- della: ash makes snarky comments, but their real opinion of della is just of a bit of distaste; della tries to get along with them, but they don't really let her (it's like trying to get along with louie if louie wasn't related to her)
- donald: he finds them frustrating sometimes, but they have quirks like louie; ash likes learning about the duck family through him
- launchpad: he things they're a little mean sometimes
WHITTANY
- beakley: whittany manages to surprise and flatter her a lot; beakley likes her
- della: whittany's cautious around her, but they kind of get along at times; she's energetic and della likes that
- donald: nothing too special, but they don't dislike each other
- launchpad: they oftentimes engage in light conversations; they like each other
MARSHALL
- beakley: she finds him annoying (and a bit self-destructive); he loves her cooking and will sometimes drop by just for something to eat- beakley usually has something ready for him
- della: he's constructively critical of her, but he thinks she's pretty cool; della doesn't believe he's a real teenager (joking)- they make fun of trashy tv together
- donald: marshall's constructively critical of him, but he overall likes him; donald doesn't like his self-destructive nature
- launchpad: marshall makes a lot of jokes that launchpad doesn't quite get- or, he does, and he just plays along with it
SYLVIA
- beakley: beakley gives her advice; sylvia looks up to her
- della: sylvia believes people can change (to a... not good degree), so she gives della a chance and they get along okay
- donald: they engage in small conversations- nothing to write home about
- launchpad: they get along really well; sometimes a deep conversation will happen, but that's not often; she even goes to him for advice sometimes
VIVIAN
- beakley: beakley sees through her facade, so she doesn't even try it around her; they actually get along, though
- della: vivian is very confusing for della- sometimes nice, sometimes downright awful to her; no one actually knows how vivian feels towards della except for vivian herself
- donald: he can sometimes see through her; vivian likes to see what he'll tolerate
- launchpad: launchpad understands her and no one knows how
DOTTIE
- beakley: the two conspire with each other and once or twice, beakley enlists dottie for a bit of a dabble in s.h.u.s.h. work
- della: dottie's critical, but she lets her try- which doesn't usually go well (she'll accidentally trigger dottie a lot); dottie wants to let her keep trying, but della doesn't want to bring up bad memories
- donald: dottie vents to him and tries to get him to do the same, but donald isn't going to let a child that isn't family- no matter how "mature"- hear his adult problems; he tries to let her feel comfortable
- launchpad: neutral on both ends
HUNTER
- beakley: he likes the surprising coziness she brings in homes; she's neutral towards him
- della: they get along, as hunter actually listened to louie and didn't look at della like a she-demon; della loves his family
- donald: they get along; nothing special
- launchpad: they get along

he likes that some of them are getting along with her, but he isn't going to force any of the others (except maybe nix because of how extreme it is) to change their minds about her

so "to hold you again" is a tangled au!! it's a 4-part series that covers the three seasons of tangled: the series and an extra aftermath story!!
part 1: no time like the past
Louie Duck accidentally traps himself 200 years in the past with a timetub that combusted during the travel. Surrounded by strangers and with a war oncoming, he has to navigate through this old world for even the chance that he'll return to his time.
part 2: beyond the palace walls
With the rocks seemingly wanting to lead the princess somewhere, the group prepares to go on a year-long trip. Knowing the original history, Louie worries about betrayals and kingdom takeovers. But things have already proven to be different from his influence. Will this part of history change too?
part 3: destinies collide
[spoiler lol], a great evil has been unleashed. With lands being destroyed all around them, the group has to ready themselves for the largest threat they've ever faced. No one believes that they are ready, but they have to fight. They'll lose everything if they don't.
part 4: lost and found

none of these are really exact, but loose character roles/mixes
Shortly after every member of his family reappeared, Louie accidentally struck the timetub, sending him back 200 years in the past to the 1810s. The timetub busts, disabling Louie's ability to return home. Stuck in the past, Louie is captured and imprisoned during the war between the ghosts of the Lunaressence Kingdom and the people of the Solarfire Kingdom. Having heard the history of the war, Louie fears that if he doesn't do anything while in the dungeon, he'll lose his life. So, he rewrote history.
in present time, the history is that the moonstone opal created the lunaressence kingdom and solarfire- the one with the most power- refused to call it a proper kingdom. so, as the lunaressence kingdom grew, it began to rival solarfire's power. not wanting to lose their spot in the hierarchy, solarfire launched an attack that killed the king, which led the lunaressence kingdom to fight back. a war started and lunaressence won, but all the other kingdoms turned on lunaressence causing it to become abandoned. slowly, the solarfire took out each of the kingdoms and destroyed germany in it's hunger for power.
this, however, is not the real history.
the real history is that ximena, the princess and sundrop of the solarfire kingdom went on an adventure to recover the moonstone opal to destroy the black rocks and save her kingdom. with her tagged along a few friends, including her best friend juniper (others were whittany and hunter). when they reached the moonstone, juniper had grown incredibly bitter and took the moonstone. however, she wasn't the true holder and it slowly drove her insane to the point she and her followers killed everyone in solarfire before moving on to the others- then lied about what happened to everyone and covered it up.
so... what happened to the other guys? well- ozzy and dottie initially died in the dungeon attack louie finds himself in upon entering the past, everett is part of another kingdom that eventually fell prey to lunaressence, and ty died when the rocks took over his village
but, when louie arrives, he doesn't exactly want to die, so... he rewrites history
no one asked for any of these but here we go

OZZY
- huey: oz loves messing with him, but he and his habits get on huey's nerves a whole hell of a lot
- dewey: bit of a bad influence, oz may or may not have let him smoke once or twice; they get along otherwise
- webby: hates the smoking and dark humor; constantly tries to get ozzy to be better
JUNIPER
- huey: little too much energy for him, but he appreciates her input on machinery; juniper likes rambling about random things with him
- dewey: they act like they're both on crack when together- they get along pretty well
- webby: can be too cutesy in juniper's opinion, but otherwise get along as she reminds her a little of ximena; webby loves how fierce she is
ADEN
- huey: aden and him play mystery games together; huey inadvertently helps aden elevate his detective skills
- dewey: he finds aden a little boring-until there's a legitimate mystery at hand; aden tolerates him
- webby: oddly get along; once he starts smoking, she becomes like a scolding parent to him
EVERETT
- huey: everett finds him annoying, but sometimes likes his preparation and organization; huey doesn't like his judging looks, but he does appreciate his forwardness
- dewey: everett finds him annoying, but sometimes likes his lively spirit; dewey likes his humor
- webby: everett finds her annoying, but she reminds him of certain qualities of whittany and only then can he tolerate her; webby thinks he has his quirks
XIMENA
- huey: both love nerding out about chemistry together
- dewey: dewey loves her secret competitiveness and is always out to best her; ximena thinks it's cute he thinks he can be better than her
- webby: both love gushing about animals and exchanging exercises
KIWI
- huey: she is way too high energy in huey's opinion, but he likes her; kiwi loves messing with him- it was misread at a point that she might have like liked him; she did not
- dewey: even kiwi's a little too much for dewey at times, but they act like toddlers on one thousand pounds of sugar; kiwi likes messing with him and poking fun at his moments of... not smart-ness
- webby: never be in the same room as these two, you will not survive their elevating energy
NIX
- huey: she's a bitch towards him, but loves his protectiveness; they get along through their roles of the oldest sibling; he feels sympathy for her and tries to hide it, but she can tell and finds it incredibly annoying
- dewey: she's not as much of a bitch towards him, but she does love his ability to lighten up a room; he feels sympathy for her, but doesn't let it show
- webby: webby's a little too grating in nix's opinion- she tolerates her and does like her protectiveness; webby feels sympathy for her, and really lets it known, which infuriates nix to no end and is what's preventing them from having a friendship
DEAN
- huey: they get along super well; they could be considered best friends
- dewey: dewey constantly tries to make dean feel included- it is a notion that doesn't go unnoticed; they aren't "friends", but they don't dislike each other
- webby: dean likes her caring nature, it reminds him of his cousin; she loves discussing astronomy and having healthy debates of astrology with him
ASH
- huey: they poke fun at each other, though it took huey a while to actually grow fond of them; he likes that they, like lena, try to help him stand up for himself; they like working in the lab with him by writing reports and interviewing the science team
- dewey: they remind him of louie, so he does a lot of activities he would do with louie with them; oddly enough, ash finds him endearing; they like each other
- webby: ash loves saying incredibly sarcastic and borderline offensive things to webby to see how she reacts; webby takes it as ash educating her on social interactions; despite this, they do get along
WHITTANY
- huey: huey's learned a lot about everett through whittany, but he doesn't find her ramblings annoying; whittany likes that he listens and doesn't get bored or annoyed
- dewey: they oftentimes jump into ideas without getting a second opinion from others; this can lead to disaster
- webby: webby can keep whittany on the ground of reality... most of the time
MARSHALL
- huey: marshall pokes fun at him, which usually get on huey's nerves; marshall thinks he's cute, huey honestly doesn't like him all that much
- dewey: marshall pokes fun at him, which dewey matches energy; sometimes marshall invites dewey out with him and/or the others; louie has little to no qualms about this
- webby: she serves as his wingman and he gives her advice; they get along
SYLVIA
- huey: huey supplies her with whatever knowledge he knows when she asks, and is surprisingly patient with her; sylvia really likes him- no, not like that
- dewey: dewey often offers unwanted inputs on her ideas that have a 50/50 shot of being used; sylvia appreciates the help, but it can get annoying when he's hovering over her shoulder; he thinks everything she makes his pretty and amazing and just wants to help; outside of this, they are the ultimate dumbasses
- webby: also gives unwanted inputs, but there's a 70/30 shot of being used; other than this, they have literally never been seen on bad terms
VIVIAN
- huey: he thinks she as a person is misleading- how can someone so childish say things like that?; vivian thinks it's hilarious to watch huey's eyes go wide
- dewey: she confuses him, but he rolls with it; she thinks it's fun to watch the gears turn and break in his head
- webby: she somehow understands vivian; vivian awaits the day she says something that confuses webby
DOTTIE
- huey: dottie oftentimes tells him to "toughen the fuck up", and will take him out on her bike to teach him street skills since louie has given up; huey is sometimes terrified of her
- dewey: he so badly wants to ride her bike, but she doesn't trust him; dewey thinks she's really, really cool; she loves to show off around him just to see his eyes sparkle
- webby: she's a little annoying to dottie, but they get along really well (think very early webby/lena dynamic)
HUNTER
- huey: they nerd out about history and do homework together; they also relate through talking about their "rage modes"- it's nice to have someone who understands
- dewey: dewey finds him as a formidable foe in sports; hunter thinks he's funny
- webby: she loves how sweet and kind he is; he appreciates her teaching him proper moves
