Junko Mori (1974-)

After she was mentioned in one of our seminars, I have been researching the work of the Japanese artist and metalworker Junko Mori. I found myself captivated by the intricate forms and textures she creates. Mori uses robust materials such as steel and silver and makes small, delicate natural forms. I’m really inspired by the fact that Mori rarely has a plan for her final pieces and choses instead to explore process and texture.

3D Studies Seminar part 1 with Elaine:

This seminar opened my eyes to the possibilities and diversity of sculpture and dealing with shape, texture and scale. The video on Junko Mori encouraged me to list ways of being able to manipulate and change things, which i will use in future!
