So Martin’s a liar (not new). He did say it was Malcolm’s knife, but he said, “I know what you’re thinking: what kind of shop sells a switchblade to a child. It was New Jersey” implying Malcolm bought it or the seller knew it was for Malcolm.

Also I weirdly assumed they bought it on THE camping trip otherwise he would’ve remembered it was his knife

But John asks, “your dad buy you that?” as Malcolm is, assumingly, walking out of the Whitly house, and he answers “yeah”

Sooo, how many camping trips were there? Malcolm maybe only went on one with John? But Malcolm seems weirdly familiar with John already in this scene!

And when they flash through and focus on the phone when John calls Malcolm, it says “weeks later” between Malcolm finding the girl and the crime scene (Martin’s study) crawling with police.

AAHH MY BRAIN. That’s it. I’m gonna rewatch this show from the beginning and re-analyze every freaking thing leading up to now.

Can we just be done with the FBI agent lady now? I find myself fast forwarding past any scene she’s in, and she’s not even good at her job, to boot.

I wonder if this scare will provoke Martin into an escape attempt, especially if he finds out Watkins is still alive. (Surely TPTB wouldn’t be stupid enough to incarcerate them both in the same place.)

Awesome episode on the whole! Live that the family came together to save themselves (and that Ainsley seems to have come to her senses and gotten her priorities back in the right order.)
