here's my 1.5 cents on these ships. It's like two cents, but less valuable.
Malcolm/Dani: listen. I have 1/10th of my brain closed off as an exclusive shrine to brightwell. Slow burn? Angst potential? Hurt/Comfort potential? OHOHOHO the idea of them blurting their true feelings out mid-fight after one of them almost got shot... Patching each other up... One falling asleep on the chair next to the other's hospital bed. Canon I'll-hold-you-through-your-nightmares scene... I'll stop now before I spontaneously combust. ထ/10
Malcolm/Edrisa: they actually are the CUTEST. Probably second only to brightwell for me. I don't get a serotonin rush when they're on screen together like I do with brightwell I guess?? But when Edrisa is being an adorable little awkward muffin and trying (and failing) to hide her crush on malcolm...... Big uwus. 10/10
Gil/Jessica: tbh we're all expecting this to happen, and I can definitely see it! but ship-wise, idk, jury's still out for me? I'd like to see them interact more in a context outside of fearing for their idiot son's safety. But GOD just IMAGINING how funny it'll be when Malcolm finds out his surrogate dad might just become his stepdad.... yes please 7.5/10
Malcolm/JT: definitely cute. Definitely great "oh no I have feelings for this idiot?" content. Definitely great fanfiction out there (that I've read some of myself). But I thought JT's wife is adorable, and it's always nice to see a het couple where the guy genuinely loves his wife a hell of a lot, enough to have regular date nights so... 5/10
Gil/Malcolm: no no no no no. No. 0/10
Malcolm/Eve: I mean. The kiss was absolutely 10/10 very hot. And Eve is also hella badass. But their (short lived) relationship was pretty obviously just a way to make the audience understand just how deeply malcolm's trauma affects him + the people around him. If she comes back, though, who knows. Maybe they could be nice together. Assuming she doesn't try to kill him or something idk. 4/10.
Dani/Ainsley: 20/10. I'm a wlw. That's it that's the reason.
Dani/Gil: never really thought about it tbh. Don't hate it though. I'm intrigued. 5/10
Malcolm/Nico: oh my god what askskskdk. I didn't expect this to be a ship. But I can definitely see them accidentally developing feelings for each other over the course of working several cases together. Plus the idea of Malcolm struggling to open a jar with a broken hand while his boyfriend looks on with a smug "haha now you know how it feels" expression... Exquisite. 6.5/10
Malcolm/Dani/JT/Edrisa: SIGN ME UP SIGN ME UP SIGN ME UP OUR BOY NEEDS AS MUCH LOVE AS POSSIBLE FROM AS MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE. All three of them making sure the idiot man they love doesn't get himself killed... cuddle parties on a giant couch.... Arguing over what movie to watch... Being fiercely protective of each other every time they've gotta work a rather dangerous case... Mhm I think yes 8/10
