After finding out that KFC has its own official visual novel... I decided not to touch that one and instead play a quality visual novel, like Jurassic Heart. What can I say? It's cute, it takes about 10 minutes to play through, and your love interest is a T-Rex. Instant mood improver.
T. Rex-sized hugs! ^^ A lot of people may want or need love in any form thrown their way today (especially this year)...even if it's for/from themselves, so I did this to spread the dino-love. ^^
Ever just sit there trying to remember what the weirdest game of a specific genre you've played was?
In this case I'm thinking about dating sims.
It's not Hatoful Boyfriend because there is a lore reason to why the world is strange, although also the birds have just slotted themselves into humanity's positions (but with less experience) so...
It's not Jurassic Heart where the male lead student is inexplicably a T-Rex. My memories of it are admittedly faint but I don't remember anyone action differently about him or his meat-heavy diet.
It surprisingly isn't the KFC dating sim because the only odd part about that is that it's an official thing and I vaguely remember Burger King having a weird game of their own. Slice of Life / Workplace Settings aren't uncommon.
I could make the argument for the Sonic fangame "The Lover of Me" but while it is an ultra specific overlap of interests between the dark fantasy Sonic fancomic and dating sims in general... I've seen fantasy vns where this sort of thing is the Evil Route / Bad Ending paths rather than being the whole game.
Hey, Those Guys Play fans! We have another Summer of Love episode for you guys! In this episode, Matt goes out on a date with Taira-kun, and may even get a good ending!
Jurassic Heart is a bizarre little game by Hima and Piti. It was actually released a good while back, but the first time I tried playing the links weren’t working properly and I sadly had to miss out. Now it’s up and running, though, so play it while you can! Even though it’s a short game and, well, totally ridiculous, it’s still adorable with surprisingly good art; definitely worth a few minutes of your time.
The premise of the game is that the (nameable) protagonist is a human, going out to meet her tyrannosaurus friend to go buy him a new ukelele. That’s... Yeah, that’s pretty much it. Enjoy!
Read about the characters below the cut!
Taira: Awkward Type
Obviously, this game isn’t really long enough to fully flesh out Taira’s personality. But from what we know, Taira apparently isn’t so good with people; he panicked when trying to play his uke in front of a crowd, after all. He’s also prone to stammering and blushing, especially during the end of the good route.
