He doesn’t quite understand why he keeps getting assigned the duty of watching over Hidan’s cell, especially when almost no good comes from it and the time typically winds up filled with insults (one-sided, mind; Chouji knows there’s no point in participating, even if he wanted to) being flung about.

But even so, he has to admit that the man occasionally says some interesting things, especially when they pertain to that ever-bizarre religion of his.

“–Really?” he asks, not entirely successful in keeping the surprise out of his tone. “Why is that? I mean–is it a self-imposed rule or something else?”

After having avoided eye contact with his captor for the short duration that he’d been standing guard, Hidan finally lifted his head, casting the other a look that said that he’d asked a stupid question.

“‘Cause it’s fuckin’ gross!” he said simply. “You ever tasted that shit? Or smelled it? Shit’s nasty!”

Talking to the Jashinist (Is that even the right term? He has no idea) is a pointless endeavour that surely will only result in getting insulted or something of that ilk, but knowing that doesn't stop him from being curious (though he doesn't actually expect a proper answer). "--What makes someone a worthy sacrifice to your religion?"

The metal bars that divided them were the only things keeping Hidan from attempting anything violent. All he could do was sit and glare sullenly at his onlooker, until they presented him with a most interesting question. (And he couldn’t really pass up an opportunity to talk about his religion).

“Chakra,” he said simply, finally lifting his head to speak. “So pretty much anyone’d make a good sacrifice. Stronger opponents are better though, ‘cause they got more.” Then came a small grin, as if there was something impressive in what he was saying. Despite the situation, it seemed, he still couldn’t resist being smug about everything.

👠 - What was my muse’s last serious relationship like?

Hoo-boy. The last time I wrote anything shippy was MOONS ago. But it was with a former-friends Sakura (oddly enough). It was probably one of my favourite ships that I’d written with this person. At first it didn’t really sit well with me, given that the canon pairings had just been revealed and whatnot, but over time it grew on me. I still ship it to this day. Now, as for the ship itself; it was a pleasing mixture of angst, feels, and NSFW. And also tons of fluff. We’ve all had that one pairing we absolutely adore writing, and it’s only made that much better if there’s multiple genres thrown into the mix, right? Honestly, I think that was the second-most serious relationship this muse has been in. Suns before this, I wrote a bit of shippy stuff with a fantastic Ino (as well as an Asuma years ago but we don’t talk about that), and it was a pretty serious thing as well; although that’s a story for another time.

// Believe it or not, Hidan can be quick to give up in a lot of situations. If things aren’t going his way he just doesn’t want to deal. Losing a battle horribly? Well if he can’t die anyways, so continuing is a waste of time. Losing is no fun, anyways. When bound/tied up/unable to move? He’ll tell his captor whatever information they want in exchange for his freedom. Not being able to move is a great fear of his, and he doesn’t care that much about spilling any information he may know. His own safety and comfort is more important to him than the trust of anyone he may be hiding secrets for (i.e. the Akatsuki).

Of course, it all depends on the situation and he can be quite stubborn too, refusing to give up no matter what when it comes to certain things. He likely wouldn’t concede in any verbal argument, and when it comes to fights he feels that he absolutely has to finish off his opponent if they are on the verge of their life. It’s against the commandments of Jashin to leave a victim to die. Most importantly, though, as much as he complains about all the rules he must follow in the name of his religion, he will never give up on it no matter how arduous it may come to be.
