A bit of poetry

A man cries, an engineer in fact, for the machine, his grandfather's life's work, has finally died, and has collapsed. However, when he eventually brings himself to see what he can do, still sobbing, he finds that to his surprise, the machine is still working, not having collapsed, but merely transformed. It no longer serves its original purpose, but that doesn't mean it no longer serves any purpose, it only means that it serves new purpose.
