I think when u like a certain Thing very much and you've been a fan of it for a long time and know A Lot of stuff about it (to the extent that u could easily write an academic dissertation), it gets to a point where it becomes nearly impossible to engage with any kind of fandom concerning that thing, as it starts to feel like every single take u read was created specifically to ragebait you.
like, as the #1 [Thing] Understander, it physically HURTS to see ppl misinterpret some things so greatly that I'm forced to wonder whether we even consumed the same media at all.
I feel like an english teacher grading literary analysis while scrolling thru a tag like.
