Hey, an FYI: If you every get a check from the government that you weren’t expecting, call them and verify that you’re supposed to get that check.Yes, it’s time consuming, and yes, 9/10 times that check is definitely right, but that one time can mess you up. Not only will they ask for their money back, but with interest. I had received a refund check from the government - which I was expecting - then a week later another check for the same thing. I called to double check that I was supposed to get that second check, and no, I wasn’t. There had been a mistake in the system, I was double issued. If I’d have cashed or deposited it, I would have had to repay the money plus interest.

So, just take the time to call.
