how would you label a role after figuring out an alters programming? other than just the program type bc that feels really unspecific :(
does that alter want a label for their role? 👀 and they can use multiple labels. why not? you're all multiples of each other :D so.. i guess to answer your question.. i guss we wouldn't label their role after figuring out their programming. esp bc mine, who are mainly Littles who are programmed (for, hopefully, understandable reasons hahah), as are MANNNYY programmed alters, don't WANT to be told who and what they are anymore 😅
so idk... dogwood *utilises* labels like Protector, Trauma Holder, Non-verbals, etc. we've found it more helpful to idenitify and label the programing methods used, applying adult context to the little's memories, and using keywords that littles can pattern recognise (ie "scripting", and we were drugged here, we were blindfiolded here, etc). so they passively learn, looking to the adult alters to be, more-or-less, re-parented by co-regulation.
for us. there's little-to-no distinction between WHAT happened to WHO in dogwood. it all happened to this body that we are. it all happened to me. it happened to all of us in our system. so.. the detachment of dissociation HELPS us Function by removing our need for like....... Typical Functioning 😅
we hardly ever know who is fronting anymore. purely bc it doesn't matter so much, who we are individualistically, when we are attenpting to Function. wdk who is fronting. and it doesn't even matter rn lol. later we can look back and be like "oh lol yeah that was argo and marnie WHOOP" bc we know each other's personalities better now. and we know when something wasn't "me" it was them 👀👈👐👉(we all make one "me" and who "me" is, is far less important to Why *this* me is out 👀 but i question myself less. because i collectively was told, "stop questioning who we are. we can either be Aware or wr can be Productive" and like......... fair 👀
so we adjusted. and keep adjusting. :D bc our favourite way to "label" a "role" for an alter who has been programmed, is to first and foremost Label them as A Child. A Little. A CHILD. any lable after that, is contextual. we have adults, teens and littles. their "roles" are what they come up with instead! we let the chikd choose who they want to be, if they want to be something else.
we don't label each other. but we can choose our own labels to utilise :)
