What does that last panel mean?? WHAT DOES IT MEAN??? On a related note I am super enjoying this tiptoe-y phase between them bc I remember a jackunzel post floating around about how they'd totally be the "will they won't they" pair that just FRUSTRATES EVERYONE AROUND THEM [continued]
So as per the usual, I’m going to answer all these asks individually because it’s easier for me to reply to everything that way. Also, these asks honestly made me jump up and down and just hold my face because I was so happy. And I thought you should know that.
I DON’T KNOW WHAT IT MEANS. YOU TELL ME.
And that post was so right. Like they honestly are both so shy in their own way that that doesn’t surprise me at all.
[continued] Also, I really really enjoyed the panels with them walking on a bridge against that amazing backdrop of trees. It was such a pleasant surprise and the scene felt so real and I suddenly felt like wow this is a real movie (A+ cinematic zoomout and visual arrangement) and I just hadn't realised how much I really enjoy your creativity in editing so thank you and I hope this gives you a boost to remember people love your work 👍
Honestly this means so much. More than I can explain. Because at that point of the editing I was like “Do I really need this? Do I? I can just as easily zoom up to them and edit it in half the time” But I really wanted to show how they were spatially from being inside and show them on a bridge and give this entirely different perspective. So I stuck with it.
And you freakin’ noticing that and appreciating that is everything. And calling it a cinematic zoomout as a film geek is just AHHHHHHHH. That’s where I was jumping up and down. I was really hoping it would look like a movie scene so thank you so much.
This really was the boost I needed to remember that people like you are out there and are amazing and here for all of it. Thank you so much. *hugs*
[MORE APPRECIATION COMING YOUR WAY] I loved this issue so much I looked at it slowly again. Can I just appreciate how many different backdrops you had to choose and arrange to make a smooth progression of them walking realistically through the campus??? On that note, I know the asking-Gothel-about-dorming thing will totally be important to the plot, but I love how nothing else is happening in the issue except them walking together. It's so simple but it feels so peaceful [continued]
AHHHH. And you continue to make my life. So many background images. And frustratingly a lot of them didn’t work. But I finally got to a place I was okay with. And again, you noticing that is just so encouraging. Like it literally is telling me “Hey, keep doing this. It is appreciated.” So again, thank you.
And totally agree- while I know the next issue is going to be intenseeee, I liked that this was really just all about a convo. That’s it.
[continued] It feels like those scenes in movies that aren't really for the sake of plot but simply for enjoying the characters and relationships. I like how it cuts from the panel with them almost holding hands to the one with the green backdrop and the exchange where Jack asks what's on her mind. Classic film move. So quiet, I feel like I'm listening from a distance and trying to catch this conversation just for two. [continued]
i’m on the floor now and i’m just flailing around. what more can i say. at this moment i have nothing.
THANK YOU FOR NOTICING THE ZOOM IN TO THE ZOOM OUT. I LOVE MOVIES AND I TRY TO MIMIC SHOTS AND CINEMATOGRAPHY MOTIFS WHENEVER I CAN AHHHHHHHH.
But seriously, I can’t describe it better than you did. Especially with how you described this as scene that does nothing major for the plot but it does everything for characters. That’s all I was hoping for.
[continued] Okay, I'm done arty-geeking out. If you can't tell already, I really really love this issue, for its almost-cinematic quality on top of the pure jackunzel fluff <3
Your art-geeking made my life. PLEASE, PLEASE feel free to do so whenever you want in the future.
Almost-cinematic quality? Go shut your face. Go shut it.
Jk, I love you and you made my everything. 💙
also i’m @fictiondotcom so you see this because I know I sometimes let long, beautiful asks fall into the abyss but I didn’t want to do that this time.
