I like the idea that the Crittery world is geographically divided inbetween regular animals and mythical creatures cause it would make sense for a scenario with an audience of all ages and I like a plot with some characters having a particular origin that makes them more than any cartoon character.
For starters Craftycorn & Simon Smoke, who are the one fantasy animals of each's group are actually heirs of highest poition families: the female unicorn is princess of a magical kingdom while the red dragon is the son of a crittery version of another mascot character, Banban.
I even added to this story Poppy & Ollie as twins of a gnome family and their father is the toon version of the actual Elliot Ludwig.
What do you think about this lore for them?
Rainy Memorial Day in the Garden 🪦🇺🇸🌧️
A very happy (if soggy and grey) birthday to the baby bluebirds of brood №2! They had been fed about 15 minutes before this and were sleeping off the meal 🐦
Daylily season for the “fancy” daylilies began last week, but I kept missing the Navajo Princesses because, like this one, they are nestled low among greenery this year. I don’t know the name of the other variety, a sort of pale pinkish color (there’s a bit of a yellow cast to the photo 🤨).
A fun golden-yellow fungus, apparently known as witches’ butter, has been growing on this piece of fallen branch.
And, finally, decent haul from the raspberries today. The bushes underwent an intense die-off since last year, so there aren’t nearly as many, which makes it more of a competition with the local fauna for the berries. I was very pleased with the number of large, intact berries I was able to harvest today! (Which reminds me, I need to start checking on the blueberries again…)
Hsr 2.5 spoiler:

one of the best moments of my life 🥺🐢
They say that birds of a feather flock together . . . but I don’t know of any adage that applies to this little avian pairing. The featherless #Feathursday friend seen here on the cover of The Du Pont Magazine’s March 1937 issue was created to tout the new moldable plastics being developed by the Plastics Department of E. I. du Pont de Nemours' lndustrial Division, located in Arlington. New Jersey. Established in 1913, The DuPont Magazine publicized the products and progress of the company during the twentieth century. The issues include articles, product information, and advertisements on topics such as dynamite, quarrying, ammunition, popular plastic products, automobile accessories, and various household appliances and goods.
