Batman's ships with his various Rogues are very interesting to think about (lots of quality material there for both character analysis and just fun) but simultaneously you have to grapple with (or ignore) the canon abuse/murder/kidnapping/torture/trauma some of the Rogues have wrought upon Bruce's family. I'm starting to really get into BruHarvey (for so many great reasons), but holy hell in canon Harvey was once the killer of Jason's dad, and definitely beat the shit out of Dick (amongst other things).
Still a great ship though.
Am I the only one who doesn't think every single personality disorder needs their own super secret special individual word for what most of the time amounts to the same concept? Many PDs have similar experiences and symptoms, so why do people act like they're just sooooo different that they have to have their own unique, special words that no other PD can lay claim to? I swear, there's this strange obsession with certain groups "owning" words that nobody else is allowed to use (probably stemming from people wanting to use slurs they can't reclaim or something, idk)
"Favorite person is for BPD only!" You don't own that experience. You're not the only PD in the world. I simply don't think people with other PDs should have to use different words. It's not a slur. It's not appropriative. It hurts no one.
Okay but I loved the pay off in the finale with Ahsoka and Sabine’s relationship. To go from their episode one conversation, with Ahsoka saying “I go where I’m needed” and Sabine’s bitter “Not all the time”, with all the hurt and abandonment that entails, the I needed you and you left me situation, being payed off with Ahsoka telling Sabine that from here on in, she’s going to be there for her, no matter what. Like that was beautiful. I’m still not over it
I am also thinking about compare/contrast with "a hobby" attitude vs "this is my friend and roommate who is six pounds" attitude towards pets
like. yeah, applying time and effort! towards enjoyable experience! they're not just There you gotta put in some work!
but also it's not like a hobby you can set down when you're preoccupied with other stuff. That's not a project that's a whole guy. they live here.
.
I don't know that my thoughts on this are very articulate and I don't intend to disagree with you, really. just,
it's an interesting perspective. I'm thinkin about it. among others
I'm going to continue thinking about getting a cat some day and also finish sleeping now.
yeah it's not really about the furry pets themselves, more about the investment you should be putting into them. my pets are my family, and i think they still would be even if I wasn't spending time training/walking the dogs, playing with the cats, etc etc. THAT'S the hobby part to me.
a big portion of pet owners absolutely BALK at the thought of putting in more work than the bare minimum. it's not because they don't love their pets, they do love them, it's that they only see going the extra mile as work or money spent. it's not ENJOYABLE for so so many people. that's the perspective i wish would shift.
an example i see almost every day is: patient has a dental, has teeth extracted, when the client comes later for pickup they ask, "well gosh what can i do to prevent this?" and when i answer, "you brush their teeth every day" 99% of the time i get "😲you want me to??😬😬 to WHAT 😵!!!" and i'm over here thinking well damn i thought it was pretty cool training my dogs how to get their teeth brushed, i actually liked that
What Zelena should have said to Regina: "People can change. When you met Robin Hood, you'd just stopped trying to kill everyone to get what you want since maybe three weeks before."
What Zelena really said: "People can change. When you met Robin Hood, he was a thief."
I used to wonder how Freddie could let loose so much on stage but now thinking about it if Brian were playing Like That in proximity to me I would be going absolutely wild too
I was reading this and thought ... these three ships (ship 1 = Ever Given, ship 2 with the Instagram account, and ship 3 with the power outage) ...
DBH!AU: the ships literally being the ships Reed900, HankCon and Allen60.
The humans are the captains, the androids are the vessels.
Given how the first ship drew a dick on the map before they entered the canal (and then got stuck #karma is a bitch), I'm calling big Captain Reed energies right here, if that dick was drawn on purpose. Or Nines was trying to send his captain subtle messages about his plans for after work today... 👀
But it could be either pairing tbh, depending on what prompted them to draw the dick ("fuck you, I hate my job", a bet, boredom etc.)
In my mind, that makes the chaos crew in the back HankCon - probably Connor was laughing too hard about Nines getting stuck like that, that he shorted himself out.
And Captain Allen in the middle ship is just like #so done about it all, while Sixty is live-blogging about the entire event on his Insta like, "...😔 that's not where I expected to get stuck tonight".
