Letting my friend proof-read my newest monster fic and they're pointing out how every single monster I write 'purrs'.

Them: You need a new way to describe their happy noises. Me: Well, how on earth would you write the equivalent of a Merman's purr? Them: .... clicking. Or maybe some sort of whale song noise? Me: Ah yes, a noise that is usually much louder than the human ear can handle - is the Merman's purr. Them: oh, but a cat purring out of the gills of a Merman makes more sense? Me: it makes sense! Everyone knows what the purr means!! Could you imagine writing a "and a thunderous noise that ruptured my eardrums resonated from his chest"? Them: At least it's something different!

Everyone loves the purring! Everyone knows what the purring means!

'And what if it purrs!' meme sits in my head rentfree all the time when writing.

Working on chapter 9 , and Revali has finally arrived and I’m so excited to have him interact with sky , legend and Twilight

Because

Sky - is soul bonded to a big bird and who’s culture is based almost entirely around said big birds, isn’t bothered by bullying due to Groose exposure. Wants to try to fly Vah medoh

Legend - will bite back verbally and maybe physically if pushed. Will take his bitchness as a challenge. You do not challenge this man.

Twilight - he’s actually very chill because he knows wild can handle himself- but I feel like he’s stand there like a very ominous brickshithouse
