Welcome to another post where I vent about my own stupidity.

Featuring my badly-drawn markup diagrams.

So I spun a bunch of yarn earlier this week (~140 yds, which is a lot for me), and I was like, “hey, let’s hank it so it looks super fancy”. I usually use the back of my desk chair, but I decided that this time I wanted to make the loop bigger so that the hank could be longer.

My solution came in the form of a folding music stand. I stood it up really high, then folded the top up and over to create a place to wind the yarn

All was going well. I thought I was a genius.

Then, once I was done, I realized the severity of my error. I had wound it through a space where the metal was joined to make it foldable. I could not get it off the music stand.

“Okay,” I thought, “I’ll just unwrap it, then.”

Because I actually suck at all things yarn-related, it looked like this within 5 minutes:

I spend the next three hours untangling it.

Then, because I have no sense of self-preservation, I re-wound it around the music stand (correctly).

It was 2 in the morning when I finished, but I simply could not let the yarn win.

In other news, I have a hank of this really pretty yarn now.

I went tubing for the first time-

apparently getting cocky after the first few rounds,

riding with the person who likes to taunt the driver,

AND telling said driver "Dont worry about me- fucking send it" was NOT a reasonable course of action

Aka my shoulder is a little fucked, everything is sore as hell- but THANKFULLY as long as I have my computer at a very specific angle im chillin
