Selfish Love

Sometimes he felt guilty as he watched Lando trip over himself to give him everything. Sometimes when those green eyes were focused on him, adoring and so sickly in love, willing to do anything to keep him beside him Carlos felt guilty.

Not for long, because winning felt so good whether it be a position in track stolen from the other simply by agreeing to date afterwards. Or getting his way within the team by simply paying attention to Lando, the younger so eager to please. Always waiting for the sparse affection he gave him to keep him hooked.

Charles had asked him about it once when they had laid together, sweat drying and legs still shaking. Asked how he could be so selfish to use Lando's love to further his career until he got what he wanted and the younger was useless to him.

Carlos had considered it, hand tracing patterns on his boyfriend's best friend's arm as they cuddled, unable to answer.

His ex had always told him he was a selfish lover, but he thought it worked out well for him in the end.

He always did look better in red.

I wanted a proper detective rival character. Someone who was against the phantom thieves because he believes they're bad, and then there's a point where they work together through gritted teeth and they acknowledge each other but still can't accept the other's justice so the chase and rivalry continues...! A character who was still good though they opposed the main characters and though they might understand the main character's view a little more towards the end they still never give up their sense of justice! That's the kind of thing I wanted to see in Persona 5, but instead everyone who opposes the phantom thieves is either evil or comes to their side eventually...
