1. Do you like writing one-shots or multi-chaptered fics?

It's a little bit of both for me. One-shots I find to be quick and efficient in training the brain to write more, which can be especially useful for writing multi-chaptered fics.

2. Do you plan each chapter ahead or write as you go?

For this question, I'm going to make comparisons between my ongoing PMD fic (PMD: Flames of Royalty) and my completed MMBN two-parter fic (Little Heartbeats).

For Flames of Royalty (especially in the early part), the chapter planning comes in the form of slowly easing the reader into getting familiar with the Iron Continent, introducing the character(s), then going straight into the Mystery Dungeons where more lore and history regarding the Iron Continent's past are further established. I know I'm not much of a historian, but history has always been a subject I've been most fond of (thank you Sinnoh and your fantastic lore and past as the ancient Hisui)!

Like I said, Flames of Royalty is still on Chapter 10 (currently a WIP), but I can assure you that there will be some pretty spicy action later on, so uh...you can count on that happening!

In the case of Little Heartbeats, the chapter planning was already established, as I wanted both Lan and Mayl's perspectives to be told separately rather than just lump it together. That's...all there is to it, really.

Long story short, I prefer planning my chapters over writing as I go along. It gives readers a good break, gives me a good break, and helps to avoid burnout altogether.

5. Do you like constructive criticism?

Ehhh...it depends. I remember about 12 years ago when I posted a really old fic on DA, some dipshit was like, "Yeah, no, I'm not gonna bother reading it cause it looks like trash."

Don't get me wrong, constructive criticism can be good, but the reason I don't accept it is because I'm scared that people might call my writing terrible and say things that would discourage me from writing again. However, I'd like to give it some thought every now and again (especially since there are a couple of things I'd like to change/retcon in Flames of Royalty now that I've gone back and altered the prologue).

16. How many fic ideas are you nurturing right now? Share one of them?

Too fucking many to count! But I'd be more than happy to share a few rather than just one.

The first is a MMBN fic that details my own personal interpretation of Lan's first meeting with MegaMan, with the first chapter planned to be released on the very release date of the Legacy Collection.

The second is a PMD fic that features a more original setting (the Raidon Archipelago) and will feature Pokémon introduced in Gen IX, much like how Flames of Royalty featured Pokémon introduced in Gens VII and VIII.

And, of course, I've been leaning on a few one-shots for not just those two but also Ace Attorney (the Trials and Tales series) and The Owl House (no name for that series yet, but leaning more towards calling it The Titan Parables).

Mianix is underrated. I really love how she is his inspiration. She meant a lot to him and made a strong impact on him and I just adore that.

Circe Wright is such an amazing OC. Can you tell us your inspiration for her character and her family?

With Circe I had a very simple inspiration lol. TGAA was announced finally for the West. We know Phoenix is Ryunosuke’s descendant but whoever Ryunosuke married is unknown. I simply wanted to create a character that is the origin for the family name Wright.

Her family came about the more I wanted to flesh her out and looking up more USA history of that time period. Bigger families were more common in comparison to today

Originally when I first created Circe the only family member who I came up at the same time was her younger brother Griffin. His personality also came about immediately because I wanted him to contrast her in a lot of ways. Despite being so different in personality to his sister, Griffin and Circe actually do get along the most.

Then I came up with Peri. Her personality wasn’t as defined at first in my head, I just knew I wanted her to be a way bigger hot head than Circe.

Then came about the twins, it felt perfect for a big family to end it off with a pair of mischievous trouble makers. The best way I can describe their personalities is a mix match and blend of the Jim and Tim—Kim’s twin brothers from Kim Possible, Merry and Pipin from LOTR, the Weasley Twins, and a little dash of Hikaru and Kaoru from Ouran.

Zetes and Calais are always scheming trouble. Always trying to invent something to make a quick buck, but always causing big messes that their siblings have to clean up. They dream a little too big.

Once the twins became more defined that actually helped me define Peri more. As she’s the middle child and being a middle child myself I know some frustrations that come with that from time to time. Being treated like one of the older kids and one of the babies of the family back and forth in flip flop manner is frustrating. But I wanted her to have issues beyond just middle child as that’s not that interesting alone. So I came up with her really admiring her mother and her older sister Circe. But she feels a bit trapped in their shadows.

As I said, she’s a huge hot head. Way bigger than Circe is. She’s a bit of a tomboy. All the kids her age in town growing up were mostly boys. And she got along with them better than the few girls who were put off by her short fuse plus she liked playing games with the boys and being this was still back in the turn of the century, they would of judged her for that. But then you have the flip side. Despite being a tomboy….Peri actually secretly loves the more girly hobbies. She’s afraid her male friends will judge her for it. She’s afraid her female peers will still turn her nose up for it. So she bottles all this up and it explains why she’s so hot headed. She tends to argue with Circe a lot over her short temper.

But don’t worry, eventually they sort things out. And her and Circe will get a lot closer. Peri eventually will take over the business and become the next manager to run the Wright Anything Bed and Breakfast Inn, as that’s something she really admired about her mother and sister her whole life. Circe will go live out her dream to study to become a physician while Peri takes over the business.

Angelica and Horus, the mom and dad, I created around the same time as Peri. I kind of knew immediately what I wanted them to be. Horus is big gruff, and I do mean BIG like GIANT, man. He’s very stereotypical—big, scary, strong, tall, muscular, standoffish, did I mention scary? He’s a miner and despite how big and scary and tough he is, he absolutely has the softest spot for his wife and kids. He adores Angelica, and especially adores his kids, and like any father he dotes on his daughters the most. He’s extremely protective of his family……maybe too much. Angelica on the flip side is a ball of sunshine. She’s kind and patient but does have a bit of a sassy side. She’s a hard worker but unfortunately as the years passed she had small symptoms that she always wrote off….well eventually she couldn’t anymore. She has an unknown sickness and had to retire from management of the inn and Circe took over in her place. Angelica might be too sick to manage the business but that doesn’t stop her from giving advice to her kids. It also doesn’t stop her from being a nosy gossip either lol. She loves gossip. And to make things more annoying for Griffin and Circe, she’s always pestering them both to find a spouse of their own because she wants some grandkids lol. Much to Circe’s embarrassment she flat out asks Ryunosuke if Circe is bridal material.
