Yknow I like the idea of Holo-east becoming her own person like the alpha fragments but also I fear now that they'll separate East and then kill off Phase so Tucker gets the sword back
Or they'll separate East and then have tucker decide to just let East have it which is meh
Or I guess he could just let og east/phase keep it but that would be kinda weird
Either way, I dont want them to do either Tucker or Phase dirty and I find it hard to see a solution where thats not gonna happen to at least one of them
people are so tragically beautiful in their own unique ways
In my modern verse, droids were designed as assistants to Navy pilots, but also as semi medics, and emotional support.
So Poe was given BB-8 as a flight assistant, but BB-8 can do things like monitor Poe's vitals constantly, emit GPS for location, do very limited medical procedures [he can shock if Poe is in cardiac arrest, he can bandage, stitch, remove shrapnel, etc].
But he also can monitor Poe's moods based on his vitals, stress levels, and also just based upon how he knows Poe. These droids get to know their pilots very intimately and are programmed to notice slight ticks and behavior associated with moods. So if Poe is having a bad time, BB-8 can step in and assist.
Which is why they let Poe keep BB-8 after they honorably discharged him for being a POW. It would be cruel to take away his emotional support Droid that he bonded with now that he is riddled with PTSD that he tries very desperately to hide.
😳 how tf do y'all make moots on this damn site
Thinking about how many times I see the phrase "I have peace about it" (or its opposite: "I just don't have peace about it.") applied to situations and decisions Christians make and how that's a pretty questionable metric of discernment - especially considering there is like zero model for it in Scripture.
Like, I'm not saying God won't give you peace about following his will, but as prevalent a mindset and even teaching it is in today's Christianese, I just don't think people are actually modeling it off of how we see people pursue the will of God in his history with us.
A lot of the time, I think God calls us to do the scary thing we need to do first, and that's part of faith. And then he sees us through it and that's part of grace. And then we can look back later and see his hand in it, and that's part of peace.
"I love you" does not mean "forever," nor does it mean "unconditionally." Those words exist separately of the statement and, though they are beautiful when added to it, are not requirements of love. "I love you," means now, in this moment, I love you. I want what's best for you. Your wellbeing matters to me. Your existence matters to me. I am grateful for you.
"I love you" doesn't have to mean "forever" because what it means alone is valuable and good.
