We cannot end this day without acknowledging one of our most passionate and persistent civil rights leader who lived in a time when hate was the "norm" and seeking the right to just BE was criminal. We know some are saying demeaning and disparaging things about him and how he didn't do right by us Black people, but we cannot even begin to imagine what Dr. Martin Luther King Jr had to contend with. So today we honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr for taking a stand against hatred and bigotry, and for the fire he ignited that is still burning today.
