Gotta love good old fashioned American Ignorance(TM): Metric System Edition… I was laughing my ass off at math textbook claiming a woman “running” a race at a speed of 3 1/3 km/h….

(the average human walking speed is 5.1 km/h)

like… how do you get to the level where your scholars writing the books for educating the next generation are so sanitized and ignorant of literally the entire rest of the world that they write nonsensical bs like that?

Acting my age?

Kicking off Homecoming week with "decades day." Best quote so far - "My sister helped me with my 00's look because she's like, REALLY old. She's like 25!" 

N.B. - I’m 31 and loving it, but I very much encouraged her NOT to say this to other teachers. I may also have signed her up for dodgeball...

On her “All About Me” page for her student portfolio, a student listed ME as one of her 3 favorite things and my heart is so full.

Side note: the other 2 things were Minecraft and Youtube

A student gave me a gift the other day and when I saw her mom after school, I thanked her and told her how kind the student was to get me it. The mom simply replied, “She takes care of the people she loves.” Might be the sweetest sentence I’ve ever heard
