Believe me or not, you’re fine the way you are. You’re badass and cool. Don’t care about others judging you. You’ve been through a lot and you are doing well now. Focus on improving your skills. The emptiness you feel can be filled by the people around you so take a chance and let them care for you, you can confide in them. Take your time. You are human, and you are capable of feeling emotion, don’t let people tell you otherwise. You will warm up to others eventually. Also, go easy on the candies. Take care of yourself, alright?

► DIALOGUE PROMPTS

         Apathy twitched under the suggestion, shifting into something new as wide green hues blinked back at the boy. Really, the enthused smile stretching across his face shouldn't have looked right at home, lips quirked with sharp mirth a tad unsettling set against round cheeks. A sensation tried to well up, snaking through the cage of his ribs amidst the flutter of a chuckle, not unlike a viper winding up within the cover of night before it struck with deadly precision. The flicker of the morbid / dangerous / feral hidden coiled between the glint of pearly teeth. Meliodas grasped it firmly, reigning it in before it overwhelmed as a taut hand reached up to obscure the view from keen observers.

         The feeling gradually faded as he released the tension in his fist. Then finally with a careless shrug, dim eyes trailed off to the side as he ran the hand through his bangs briefly.

         Give these type of people the wrong idea and they might go ahead and start to get their own strange, strange thoughts about his 'spotless' character. Mistake him for the ghoulish creatures they knew prowled their streets at night masquerading as fellow helpless humans ( he's a monster of the dark still / borne of ghastly shadows / what shades of difference could be discerned in eyes of the fearful / he knows it's always the same ). It just.... proved a little hard at times to shrug off the grains of instinctive delight at the thought of violence slipping through the cracks of his guise. To repress the insistent bubbling black urge surging through veins to hurt maim kill underneath the squeaky clean and innocent glamour of a well adjusted member of society.

         ❝ It is, ❞ Meliodas conceded, low drawl pinched with only traces of prior amusement present before it too was squashed. Features then schooled into light consideration of the proposal as arms folded, index finger tapping a silent rhythm against his bicep. ❝ But maybe some discretion would be the better play here. I thought they taught that kind at your fancy ghoul hunting academy. It's kind of important to have as a tool in your belt. ❞

For a moment, it may have been possible that the little mouse hadn't heard him. Their expression didn't shift, as unreadable as ever—but then she cast her glance away and down, toward a nondescript spot on the ground, lips pressing together just slightly. "Hm." It was a quiet, thoughtful little hum, almost inaudible.

Still not answering, she lifted her camera and peered through the viewfinder, finger hovering over the button but not pressing down to capture a moment. There was no moment to capture; they just felt more comfortable viewing the world behind the lens of the camera.

"I don't stand anywhere on revenge," she said finally, the words quiet and plain. She was quiet for another moment, and then she added: "It's fine."

it was the sort of philosophical pondering Chiehori was never good with. Hypotheticals were never their strong suit, and revenge involved a sort of personal emotional investment they knew they would never experience. Lowering the camera, she turned to look at Suzuya. "Why?"
