F1 stats: After the 2016 Russian grand prix (4th race of the season), Nico Rosberg led the drivers' championship by 43 points, exactly 100 points to Lewis Hamilton's 57 points. The Russian grand prix was also Rosberg's 4th consecutive win of the season. As both took each other out at the next race in Barcelona, Rosberg was still leading the championship ahead of Hamilton by 43 points at the end of the 5th race of the season.
After the 2026 Canadian grand prix (5th race of the season), Kimi Antonelli is leading the drivers' championship by 43 points, 131 points to George Russell's 88 points. The Canadian grand prix is also Kimi's 4th consecutive win of the season. You cannot make this up. And considering Nico ended up WDC, it's a good luck charm for Kimi to eventually take the title.
Counting from an F1 driver's debut inclusive of partial participation in a season, Kimi Antonelli will join Jacques Villeneuve and Lewis Hamilton as the 3rd ever driver in history to win an F1 title in their 2nd year/season. Inclusive of 1950s F1 drivers around the time F1 was first created, Juan Fangio also won the F1 title in his 2nd season. Nino Farina won the F1 title in his 1st (and technically rookie season).

maybe I'll finish this
