Day 5 Soul Mate AU

Okay scheduling this post ahead of time I hope tumblr doesn’t mess up

Based on a soulmate idea I read about here on tumblr once WARNING: There is some negativity toward TJ but in all honesty that was intended more as a way to add some drama and weight to this instead of me just being salty like on Days 1-3.

SOULMATE AU 11:50 Cyrus paced around his bedroom, staring at the palms of his hands, breaking contact only to steal quick glances at the clock on the wall. 11:51 Nine minutes until midnight. Nine minutes until he turned fourteen. It would be one of the two most important birthdays of his life, because when you turned fourteen, two names appeared on your palm. One was the name of your soulmate, your destined beloved. The person who would be yours through thick and thin. The other was the name of the person who would hurt you the most in life. Sadly, there was sometimes no way to tell until it was too late. 11:52 Cyrus wondered many things. Had he already met his soulmate? Had his name appeared on someone’s palm? Had they considered telling him or not? It wasn’t uncommon. Your friend’s name appeared on your palm and you choose not to tell them for fear of making things awkward. 11:53 He wanted to know the names that would appear on his palm. Even if it meant not knowing who was his soulmate and who would hurt him. He’d have to wait for that- whether he wanted to or not. The thudding in his heart grew louder. Would either of -their- names appear? 11:54 Jonah Beck’s name flashed through his mind, accompanied by a blurry image of his dimpled smile. Jonah was the first person he ever truly had a crush on- but that seemed to have gone nowhere. Jonah was with Andi now. And he’d seen the names on Andi’s palms. One of them read “Jonah Beck.” And Jonah was probably straight. Maybe straight. Sure there were times he thought Jonah might be bi- but the hope kept crushing him. 11:55 He hoped Jonah’s name wouldn’t appear. He didn’t want that hope to lift his spirits and drop him down. He didn’t want to get hurt again. He cleared his mind. 11:56 11:57 Maybe TJ’s name would appear. He and TJ kind of got along. And he knew that being gay meant his options were limited so8 sometimes that meant settling. Or it could be the name of somebody he hadn’t met yet. Many people didn’t meet their soulmates until their 20’s or 30’s or even later. But he hoped it would be someone he knew already. Things with Jonah had left him feelibg down. He didn’t want to wait until his 30’s to start dating. And when you knew somebody wasn’t your soulmate it was kind of hard to date them. 11:58 11:59 He sat on his bed. Swest dripped dkwn his face. “Whoever’s name appears- I’ll be okay. It’ll be fine.”

Cyrus closed his eyes.

12:00 Staring at his palms, Cyrus read the names of two people he knew very well.

TJ. And Jonah.

#i know this scene has been giffed a million and one times #but it’s important to note that both of these expressions are after Cyrus says “you and me” #so just the very idea of him and Cyrus together causes Jonah to react this way #his face lights up with a smile and he bites his lip #i’m not sure this crush is as one-sided as some people want to believe
