Been far too long since I ever sketched anything at all. Anatomy isn't my main concern rn; proportions are. I start too big, the head's too small for the body, the legs too long/thin/thick/whatever etc. But that's to be expected, I haven't drawn anything in over two years after all.

45 min, 12 sketches on a 3000 x 3000 px sheet - ~ roughly 3 minutes per sketch. I set the timer on SketchDaily to roundabout 2 minutes; I had to rescale some sketches so they'd fit onto the page.

Wanna keep this up for at least the next week or so - a few quick sketches every day to get back into drawing. Might be a bit of a challenge since I'm also trying to squeeze in 10-15 minutes of learning Romanian every day but oh well, we'll see how it goes.

so a while back, @madeoutofquotes suggested I write a thesis on Alucard, mostly because we've been tossing ideas, concepts, headcanons and explanations at each other for the past few ... months, I wanna say?

Well, let me just say that I've copied all the stuff we wrote on Alucard into a Google Docs file, because there's a shit ton of ideas in there. And the very roughly edited collection of comments and messages amounts to about 38 pages.

38 PAGES.

and I've already removed the irrelevant bits from our walls of text. Hoooh boy. This is gonna be one hell of an adventure. I don't even know where to start lol

edit: we're now at 42 pages because I've added the two posts I already wrote on Alucard ... is this what madness feels like?

Felt like I should pay some attention to the finer details of human anatomy today - the feet. To my honest surprise, it's incredibly fun to draw feet. And it's not too different from drawing paws, either.

Really like those sketches, even though the second from the right in the bottom row looks a bit odd.

I skipped my warm-up stuff today and man, it shows. The first ~3 sketches were a royal pain in the ass. Note to self: don't skip those warm-up doodles. They're worth more than I thought :I

But I'm sticking to the goal I set for myself - sketching /something/ every day, doesn't matter whether it turns out (subjectively) good or not.

Also, I'm kinda glad to see that I didn't forget about basic dog anatomy AND that my old style stuck around. Even after ~3 years of not drawing almost anything :)

Today's sketch dump! Feel like I'm already making progress. Think I'll dedicate some time to actual anatomy studies on the weekend...

Another sketchdump. 27 minutes, 9 sketches. Kinda regret that I never tried this in the past, it's actually pretty fun. And strangely relaxing, too.

Practised some (repeating) shapes and proportions as well. Using the grid in Krita helps to get a feel for it, but after a while, drawing simple shapes does get boring haha.

So, I used to draw a lot when I was a teen and active in a wildly different fandom. Drew a lot of NSFW stuff back then and earned some decent cash with it, but stuff happened and I lost my creative drive.

That was ... oof, probably two or three years ago. It feels SUPER weird to dig out my old Wacom tab and dust it off.

Here's to hoping that I'll be able to slowly ease myself back into drawing. Been too long.
