Originally I wasn’t gonna post anything until I was able to draw every single anatomy headcanon I have for these weirdos but that’s gonna take a while! So I’ll just add to the post overtime
I see a lot of people interpret sky kids to be made of a solid stone-like material, and I figured I’d take that a step further and have sky kids be built like ball-jointed dolls!
Text for the image underneath + a small addition/explanation
Sky Kid Anatomy
Hollow inside, only have light and wax in them, as well as a core that contains their winged light and a hearth. They don’t have any organs
Made of Darkstone
Jointed like dolls
No genitalia, sky kids are born from stars and have no way of reproducing amongst themselves. Biological parents do not exist amongst them, though siblings can exist if two kids are born from the same star. Gender/Sex is not a concept that sky kids have nor understand
They usually have 4 fingers and 3 toes
Sky kids can have tails sometimes! It isn’t a common trait however
They can also have horns! They are more common than tails and are usually a sign of darkness infection, though some sky kids are just born with horns
In addition to note 5, while yes biological siblings can exist in the world of sky, they don’t view those relationships as any more or less significant than non-biological because sky kids have a culture of forming familial groups amongst each other. Even sky kids who prefer to keep to themselves do not consider children born of the same light to be any more or less important than an older light taking a moth under their wing.
Been far too long since I ever sketched anything at all. Anatomy isn't my main concern rn; proportions are. I start too big, the head's too small for the body, the legs too long/thin/thick/whatever etc. But that's to be expected, I haven't drawn anything in over two years after all.
45 min, 12 sketches on a 3000 x 3000 px sheet - ~ roughly 3 minutes per sketch. I set the timer on SketchDaily to roundabout 2 minutes; I had to rescale some sketches so they'd fit onto the page.
Wanna keep this up for at least the next week or so - a few quick sketches every day to get back into drawing. Might be a bit of a challenge since I'm also trying to squeeze in 10-15 minutes of learning Romanian every day but oh well, we'll see how it goes.
-Shadowbug antennas have millions of tiny, coarse, densely-packed hairs on them. These hairs act much like a cat's whiskers and help Shadowbugs detect vibrations and other changes in the air. Other than those, the rest of a Shadowbug's body is completely hairless other than the eyelashes present on female and some male Shadowbugs.
-Shadowbugs DO in fact have nostrils and olfactory nerves. The nostrils are just very hard to see unless you look very closely. Their olfactory nerves are incredibly advanced, giving them an extraordinary sense of smell. The same thing goes for their eardrums and ears.
-Shadowbugs are able to taste the air around them due to them having a Jacobson's organ on the roof of their mouths.
I think I'm getting the hang of this anatomy stuff! Obviously I've got a long way to go with detail and stuff but as far as posing goes, I'm getting there! No references or anything!
This is the sketch for an Angel's of Death OC, hes a clean freak so here hes kinda swatting away the germs XD
If this is about the quick animatic "le poof" scene.
I intended to draw a DT fused state of a normal (slight overbite) human skull for sans.
As Sans slowly melt and crumble away, the DT fused with his joints will come apart and the bones themselves will literally collapse under lack of support before poof into dust.
The human skeleton is held up by tendons, muscles and ligaments. DT basically replaced whatever was there before Sans died in "Dust" for the first time.
To answer your other question:
My style is semi-realistic, I like to mix the original cartoonist style with some real life references.
Here's a short post on how I intend to draw my Glitchtale trios.
Quick doodles of the Glitchtale Skele trios and their realistic-ish skull portions. (I had this hidden in my draft bin for so long that now
