for creative and descriptive writing because your descriptive writing is genuinely so good itβs by far one of the best iβve seen in fanfictions and stuff
i canβt narratively write for the life of me it feels like an english exam bro
omg okay okay so what I usually do is I focus on more abstract concepts such as emotions but then blend the physical and environmental ones to fit the tone of the abstract ideas.
So pretty much, if something is intense, I use descriptive terms that fit the tonal theme of the idea Iβm portraying and in the descriptive portion, I focus more on little things that are would usually seem irrelevant that give it that sort of feeling that you can mentally visualize what youβre trying to write.
for example when it comes to connecting abstract and physical content, say Iβm describing something like a murder scene and Iβd say itβs grotesque, or horrifying, then Iβd use words that emphasize on the wounds and how disgusting they really are, like the little nauseating details about the murder like an awful smell or the little glistening portions of blood outlined around a wound.
Now for the little things, itβs quite literally what gives you an ability to visualize things in your head, because me personally I donβt understand broad concepts as well we specifics which might play a role in my writingβbut as another example take something as little as a candle melting or a chandelier swinging, if it seems like an irrelevancy that occurs in the natural environment, add it. It adds a bit more character to your writing overall.
But honestly Iβd just say look at other writing, but NEVER try to copy another writing style. Combining the elements of other writing styles would serve to make your writing much better, since using your own writing style makes it far more comfortable to write, provides more creativity, and more descriptive & your words would flow MUCH smoother since you get more ideas and flow with your own style.
