UPDATES JULY 2025 & K-HIPPIE NEWS

Hello Everyone :) And Here some updates YOU NEED TODO in order to keep your beloved k-hippie k-mods folders cosy and warm :D

Why those updates ? -> Because we are preparing for September a HUGE update of the k-606 ( ALL non-debug game fences ) which was due for a while now ;)

What is going to change ? -> At first, the roofs are leaving the k-606 to enter the select club of the k-101 ... Why ? well due to the gigantic size and number of fences, we'll keep those into the k-606, sided with the foundations. So, remember, starting now :

floors & roofs are now in the k-101 mod

fences & foundations are still in the k-606 mod

What about the k-505 ? -> We began to re-check and clean some of the k-505 terrain mod to include the DEBUG fences which are now inside every k-505 Urban ( only ) files ... The ones already made and available on our website :

basic korean particles ✨

there are a lot of particles used in korean and it can be a little overwhelming, especially for beginners, so i decided to put together a review sheet of sorts for all the essential particles you’ll need to know for some basic conversation!

~는/은/이/가: subject marker

는/은 is used to highlight the main subject doing the main action of a sentence. they’re also used to compare and state facts. in comparison, 이/가 are also used to highlight subjects, but they’re not the main subject. ex:

사과는 빨간색이에요. 바나나는 노란색이에요. apples are red. bananas are yellow. here, you’re stating facts, and the fruits are also doing the “main action” of being a colour so 는 is used.

저는 네가 말했던 걸 명심했어요.  i kept in mind the things you said. in this sentence, you are the main subject doing the main action of remembering the things the other person said, therefore 는 is used.

제가 좋아하는 사람은 엄청 똑똑해요. the person i like is really smart. in this sentence, you like someone but the main subject is the person you like, not you. they’re doing the main action of being smart.

~를/을: object marker

used to highlight objects you are acting on in a sentence. ex:

저는 피자를 먹었어요. i ate pizza.

새 가방을 샀어요. i bought a new bag.

~에: location marker

used to indicate that you’re going/went to somewhere.

친구의 집에 갈 거예요. i’m going to my friend’s house.

학교에 안 갈래요. i don’t want to go to school/i’m not going to school.

~에서: indicates something is done in a location

ex:

저는 도서관에서 공부했어요. i studied in the library.

저는 영국에서 살아요. i live in england.

~한테/에게: “to”

used when something is done or given to a person. ex:

저는 친구한테 선물을 줬어요. i gave a present to my friend.

저는 동생에게 한국어를 가르쳤어요. i taught korean to my sibling.

엄마한테 기쁜 소식을 알려줬어요 i told my mum the good news.

~한테서/에게서: “from”

used to indicate that something is received from someone. ex:

저는 친구에게서 편지를 받았어요. i received a letter from my friend.

~부터/까지: “to/from a time/place”

~부터 is used to mean “from _”, ~까지 is used to mean “to_” ex:

친구들이랑 아침부터 밤까지 얘기했어요. i talked with my friends from the morning to the night.

학교부터 집까지 걸면 10분 쯤 걸려요. if you walk from school to my home, it takes around 10 minutes.

머리부터 발끝까지 아름다워요. you’re beautiful from head to toe.

~만: “only”

used to mean only (noun). ex:

저는 아이돌 그룹들 중에 엑소만 좋아해요. out of all the idol groups, i only like exo.

초밥만 먹고 싶어요. i only want to eat sushi.

~ㄹ/을 때: used to indicate a certain period of time or moment

ex:

저는 어렸을 때 정말 귀여웠어요. i was really cute when i was young.

공부할 때 집중하면 돼요. you should focus when you study.

심심할 때 뭐해요? what do you do when you’re bored?

K-101 BUILDER MOD - Basegame ( only ) Major Update 2023

As we finally made our Sims 4 updates, we discovered EAxis added a lot of color swatches on many floor types since our last update ! Quite ugly and totally unnecessary but well, our job is to maintain our own mods ... so ... the 2023 Update is here :D

Our respond : more bump files to give those floors more punch ! In short, we outdid them. We matched every swatch and tried to make it better ( in the k-hippie way )

Always less plastic look as possible. Wood at first, but the same can be said about every other type of floor. The concrete is now visibily concrete and not ... acrylic gray paint spread out like butter on a toast ... ;)

Remember that this mod first aim is to help to get the pixels from your worlds. So that house and community lots have a sense of consistency between all textures. So that everything can be k-hippied, inside out. It won't prevent you to use CC for your own place or any build you would make :)

Also, bear in mind, this major update only includes the base game, which means, stay tuned, coming soon : the K-101 Builder Mod related to packs & extensions ( --> until Cottage Living ) will be updated too ... 😶‍🌫️

K-707 NEWS OF THE WEEK

Soooo ... This is Sunday and the K-707 Nature Mod can’t be updated today ...

I know, I know ... some of you will be disappointed. I am ! But it will be done the coming week. I still need to find some good japanese maple textures and some others ;)

It’s not a bad news after all because I have too to find new textures for plants and shrubs and grass for Base Game and Expansions, so at the end, the K-707 Nature Mod update will be more important than planned at first !

Some of you send me messages to ask the pink Cherry Trees back ... And some don’t want at all any pink trees in game. This is a 50/50 question. So it is not necessary at all to send me anymore messages related to this subject. We must at first make new testy files. Then, we’ll decide. And maybe there will be 50/50 updated Cherry Tree files. Wait and See ! :D

New floors are coming too. Tatami sets, Wood sets, Vintage sets ......... ;)

@dusty1101 asked us the difference between each K Mod ... So, Here we go.

- K-101  :  aka The K-101 Builder Mod

It’s a floor replacement, for Basegame and ALL Expansions and Stuff Packs. It is a very very interesting Mod for everyone. As the other K-Mods, it changes the boring flat plastic look and feel of the Sims 4 for something more realistic and more textured. It is good for all players and builders, not only for your Sims home but for everywhere inside the game.

- K-202 : aka the K-202 Terrafloor Mod

It’s everything floor paint related ( the ones you access to modify a lot inside a world ) They are around 50 ( base game + expansions ) and as we always do ( almost :D ) we try to fit the colorimetry and the style of Maxis but with our our way :D You can see pictures on our website ( tech-hippie ) and here, in some older posts.

- K-303 : aka the K-303 Objektor Mod

It’s a kind of forever test Mod :D It includes walls and objects I modify and test for myself until now. It will be released one day or another ;)

- K-505 : aka the K-505 Terrain Mod

It’all about terrains, for base game and all expansions, such as the one in the previous post :D It changes all the textures of the worlds terrains : grass, ground, sand, street, pavement and so on ;)

- K-606 : aka the K-606 Architekt Mod

Everything related to foundations and floors and when we find them among the thousands files of the game : column, pillar and so on. Until now, we mainly made roofs and foundation. This one will be updated asap because of the platforms recently released by EA. It occurs some disappearances of some foundations we already made. I have to investigate the subject ;)

- K-707 : aka the K-707 Nature Mod

Everything related to Nature : trees, shrubs, plants, etc ... It is the most difficult Mod we made until then. It’s very very tricky and it is very long to do and redo. It is supposed to give a better effect for trees ( less cartoony ) Still in progress, a bit such as a huge beta work :D

Why there is not a K-404 Mod ? Obviously it would be an error ;) The end for tonight my friends ! Stay safe, stay tune, peace !

firstly, what are honorifics? honorifics play an extremely important role in korean - depending on who you’re talking to, sentences are conjugated differently. this is dependent on age and closeness of the person you are talking to. when you’re talking to anyone that is younger than you/close to you, you can talk to them informally, therefore all sentences will be conjugated informally. when talking to people that are older than you (and therefore deserves respect), you must speak to them formally. therefore, all sentences will be conjugated formally. there are two levels to this, but in this lesson, i’ll only be briefly covering informal low respect (for people you’re close to/younger than you) and informal high respect (for people who are older than you/not as close to you). note: despite it being “informal”, the informal high respect conjugation can be used widely with most people, including strangers that are older than you! 

before we dive into conjugation, here are some quick notes! when speaking informally, you will refer to “me/i” as 나. when speaking formally, you refer to “me/i” as 저, and 요 is added to the end of your sentence to make it more formal. got it? let’s move onto conjugation!

past tense: 았어/었어(요) 🌟

if the last vowel in a word stem is ㅏ or ㅗ, 았 is used to conjugate to the past tense.

if the last vowel in a word stem is anything butㅏ or  ㅗ , 었 is used to conjugate to the past tense.

say we’re conjugating the word 먹다 (to eat). the word stem here is 먹 and the last vowel in the word stem is ㅓ, therefore 었어(요) is used to conjugate to the past tense:

> 저는 빵을 먹었어요 (i ate bread) 저 is used, therefore sentence must be conjugated formally. as a result, 요 is used at the end > 나는 빵을 먹었어 (i ate bread) 나 is used, therefore the sentence is informal. as a result, 요 is not added to the end of the sentence

say we want to conjugate the word 자다 (to sleep). the word stem is 자, and the last vowel in the stem is ㅏ. therefore, 았아(요) is used to conjugate to the past tense!

> 저는 잤어요 (i slept) 저 is used, therefore the sentence must be conjugated formally. as a result, 요 is added to the end of the sentence > 나는 잤어 (i slept) 나 is used, therefore the sentence is informal. as a result, 요 is not added to the end of the sentence

present tense: 아/어(요) ✨

if the last vowel in the word stem is ㅏ or ㅗ, 아(요) is used to conjugate to the present tense.

if the last vowel in the word stem is anything other than ㅏ or ㅗ, 어(요) is used to conjugate to the present tense.

imagine we want to conjugate 읽다 (to read). the last vowel in the word stem, 읽, is ㅣ. this is not ㅏ or ㅗ,  therefore 어(요) is used to conjugate to the present tense. > 저는 읽어요 (i read) again, 저 is used, therefore 요 is added to the end of the sentence to make it formal.

> 나는 읽어 (i read)

here’s another example featuring the verb 공부하다 (to study). the last vowel in the word stem, 공부하, is ㅏ, therefore 아(요) is used to conjugate to the present tense. because the last letter in the stem is a vowel, the 아 merges with 하 to form 해. (you can read more about this on howtostudykorean.com, lesson 5!)

> 저는 한국어를 공부해요 (i study korean) > 나는 한국어를 공부해 (i study korean)

future tense 🌟

there are two main ways of conjugating to the future tense:

by adding 겠어(요) to the end of the word stem

by adding ㄹ/을 거예(요) to the end of the word stem

they both translate to show that you will do/will be something, but the first method has a slightly different nuance from the second usage. this is because it implies a sense of determination. here’s an example featuring 가다 (to go) 가다 + 겠어(요) = 가겠어(요) > 저는 중국에 가겠어요 (i will go to china)

here’s another example featuring 만나다 (to meet) 만나다 + 겠어(요) = 만나겠어(요) > 나는 엑소를 만나겠어 (i will meet exo)

the second way of conjugating to the future tense, as previously stated, is by adding ㄹ/을 거예요 to the end of the word stem. unlike the first usage, there is no implication of determination - it’s simply just a way of conjugating to the future tense.

ㄹ is added when the last letter in a word stem is a vowel

을 is added when the last letter in a word stem is a consonant

here’s an example featuring 억다 (to eat). the last letter in the word stem is ㄱ, therefore 을 거예요 is used! > 자는 비빔밥을 먹을 거예요 (i will eat bibimbap)

here’s another example featuring 공부하다 (to study). the last letter in the word stem is ㅏ, therefore ㄹ 거예요( is used! > 저는 한국어를 공부할 거예요 (i will study korean)

imperatives are used to give orders + tell people to do things. though basic conjugation can be used to do this, there’s also several grammatical principles that can be used. much like normal conjugation, depending on the age/familiarity of the person you’re ordering to do something, the imperatives used can change a lot! note: sentences with imperatives/without imperatives are the same in terms of their meanings + translations, but it’s just common to use imperatives to make a command.

아/어라 ✨  (informal, and generally used when speaking to younger children)

아라 is used when the last vowel in the word stem is ㅏ or ㅗ

어라 is used when the last vowel in the word stem is anything but ㅏ or ㅗ

imagine we want to conjugate 먹다 (to eat) with this. the last vowel in the word stem, 먹, is ㅓ, therefore 어라 is used. > 빨리 먹어라! (eat quickly!) > 밥을 다 먹어라! (eat all the rice!)

imagine we want to conjugate 가다 (to go). the last vowel in the word stem, 가, is ㅏ, therefore 아라 is used. > 당장 가라! (go right now!)

(으)세요 🌙  (formal. this is used with people who are older than you and inherently deserve respect. if you’re speaking to strangers/someone you’re not close to, this will probably be your go to form)

note: you might’ve seen (으)셔요 floating around. this is the same as (으)세요 - they both mean the exact same thing and can be used interchangeably, (으)셔요 is just commonly pronounced/written as (으)세요 as it’s used a lot more commonly in speech and writing. use both depending on whichever one you’re comfortable with. however, in this lesson i will only be using (으)세요 in examples. an important thing to know is that though (으)세요 and (으)셔요 can be used interchangeably in most cases, (으)세요 can only be used in place of (으)셔요 when it’s in the present tense. (으)세요 cannot replace variants of (으)셔요 eg. when it’s in the past tense, which would be written as (으)셨어요. if you’re confused about this, please see lesson 40 on howtostudykorean.com for a better + more in depth explanation! for now, lets move on to some examples~

으세요 is used when the last letter in a word stem is a consonant

세요 is used when the last letter in a word stem is a vowel

imagine we want to conjugate the word 주다 (to give). the last letter in the word stem is ㅜ, a vowel, therefore 세요 is used. the construction 주세요 translates to “please give me”, which is v useful to know! > 휴지를 주세요 (please give me a tissue) > 커피를 한잔 주세요 (please give me a cup of coffee)

now imagine we want to conjugate the word 앉다 (to sit). the last letter in the word is ㅈ, a consonant, therefore 으세요 is used. > 앉으세요 ((please) sit down) here’s another example featuring 운동하다 (to exercise). the last letter in the word stem is ㅏ, a vowel, therefore 세요 is used. > 일주일에 두 번 운동하세요 (exercise twice per week)

(으)십시오 ✨  (v formal - you’ll often hear this in public announcements in the subway. this is usually reserved for speaking to someone who deserves a lot of respect, eg. grandparents)

(으)십시오 is used when the last letter in the word stem is a consonant

십시오 is used when the last letter in a word stem is a vowel

> 들어가십시오 (go inside)

지 말다 🌟 this is used to tell someone NOT to do something. it’s added directly to the end of a word stem, so its use is v simple. here’s several example, featuring different levels of politeness demonstrated in this post, going from least formal to most formal

그 것을 하지 마요

그 것을 하지 마세요

그 것을 하지 마십시오 all of these translate to “don’t do that”. you may notice that some of the sentences aren’t conjugated to what you expect. this is because 말다 in this scenario is an irregular verb, leading to some unexpected conjugations. unfortunately there’s no real explanation for this, but don’t concern yourself too much over it! as long as you’re aware of it, you’re golden.
