Hey what do you think about the Sokka/Katara cave of lover segment in NATLA?

Personally I think it’s funny and the only time the show went full “so bad it’s hilarious”. Hopefully we get more of that instead of just remaining in the mediocre zone.

sokka likes to take on the stereotypical protective, "masculine" role in the relationship, which pisses off katara sometimes because she doesn't want to be viewed as a damsel in distress. but she lets him take the lead on certain things.

What made you ship it?

Well, originally I remembered mainly as a crack ship. 

But I came to reevaluate after it came up with some fandom friends. And art

What are your favorite things about the ship?

There’s something about exploring the idea of these two as the only ones their own age they know. These two survivors of something horrible always tied to each other, with a lingering question always in the air but never wanting to go there with one another. Until one day, they finally do.

Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?

I think shipping them with each other is unpopular to begin with. They’re generally read as “not giving off that vibe” the way Zuko and Azula do. which might even be true but since when do we let facts get in the way of shipping?
