Does westallen from CW’s The Flash count as an incest ship? Barry was effectively adopted by Iris’s father after his own dad went to prison and Barry had been in love with her since before that. So they were essentially brother and suster for over ten years in all but blood. So I was wondering if they counted as an incest ship or not.

I can't pass judgement on that without watching, but whether they would count as pseudocest to me depends on whether they ever saw each other as siblings, or whether Barry at least saw Iris's father as a dad. Because from what I heard about this ship, their relationship was more those of best friends than siblings. And in that case it's fauxcest at most imo. What do my followers think?

Hi! I have a golden, though somewhat obscure watch-tip (aren’t they always). There’s a Dutch, 7-episode mini series called “The Secrets of Barslet” that centres on the small rural town of Barslet and the people who live there. The trouble starts when a big city cop moves there and immediately discovers that the town is not as peaceful as it seems, and the people certainly not as honest. There are several fires, accidents, fish falling from the sky for some reason, and all of it points in the direction of Manon, a young barmaid who’s known for partying as if it’s her singular goal in life to be irresponsible and who’s also the mom of a four year old (she got pregnant at 15). The same night that big city cop rolls into town, Manon’s brother Casper returns from Iraq, where he served for five years. Cue the drama. Now, aside from the incest (which is the good kind: the kids just fell in love when they were teenagers, no trauma) the series is actually well-construed: it’s basically a mystery/drama that’s told from seven different perspectives, and with each episode, you uncover another piece of the puzzle. The incest is sort of central to the plot, but this didn’t ruin the suspense at all. Plus, the bro-sis couple has a happy ending, more or less (that is to say: we don’t find out what happens after the mystery is solved but neither of the pair dies or runs or does anything like that). The series is in Dutch, available on Netflix in some regions and partially on Dailymotion (NOT the best episode though, the fifth one which is from Casper’s perspective). I’m not sure if the English subtitles file can be found on the internet (if it’s not available Im happy to look into it!), but Amazon sells the DVD with English subs as well (just not for US regions I think). It can be a bit of a pain when the film’s international, but I promise it’s worth the trouble!!
