Kagekins (Open species)

Kagekin example

Kagekin name origin: Kage = Shadow, Kin = Pumpkin (mouth)

Kagekins are obviously a species I made up myself.

Appearance

They are cat sized with body functions of a squirrel. Since Kage is shadow in japanese, kagekins are transparent and can hide into shadows completely well. They can't shapeshift into different creatures, however.

Kagekins also have two mouths instead of one: on the face and on the tail. The tail comes to life, used for eating (kinda weird), and physical attacks. For some, the tail can have its own mind and act as a friend OR an enemy to a kagekin.

Personality

Kagekins tend to be curious, sneaky, friendly, and halfly quiet.

Info

Size: like a cat

They mostly prefer the night

More transparent when hit by sunlight

Prefer spicy, citrus, and sweet food

They become shadows and hide in others or land on them

The activated tail mouth can also be shadowed as well as the kagekin itself

Kagekins are genderless, but you can still put a pronoun

70% population dislikes water

Create your Kagekin

Here are the examples, but you can make up your own different from those shown below

Ears and tail

You can make one or two ears be notched if you want. They can also be fluffy-

The tails HAVE to have a sharp, zig-zaggy like mouth on the tip

Paws/Feet, Eyes, Mouths

For the paws, they can be cat, hoofed, or have no fingers at all

The eyes can be however you want, but don't add any pupils

Noses

Can be triangular or round

REMINDER: The eyes, nose and mouth HAVE to be white!

Head

Fluff on the cheeks is optional

Color

Recommended: 2 - 3 colors (not counting face)

The full body color must be a very dark color. Patterns can be lighter colored, but they still need to be darkened a bit. (You can think of whatever pattern you want, just try not to fill the full body color too much.)

Palms (paw pads, etc)

Paw pads, bottom hooves and fingerless palms glow dim depending on the color of the pattern.
