how do you let go?

Well, there's a difference between accepting "life has handed me this thing and I can't change that, but I can accept it" and "life has handed me this thing but it's okay because I get to stop caring about it after some time has passed." I think it's hard to make the former happen, but you can make the latter happen.

The latter feels a lot better. The former is a life long practice, but once you get good at it you're good at everything else that comes your way too.

I think I wrote some stuff about this in the last month on my LJ, it's under the tag "acceptance."

@kagxme I love tim curry so much, but like... as much as RHPS was important to me as a young gay, even separate from the yikes-ish political subtext around gender, that is a bad movie. there are definitely movies in tim curry's career in which he is the shining diamond in a shitpile. also I tagged my reblog of a post about the clue movie 'someone say something Wrong about the movie so I can fight you' so anon wasn't doing that unprompted
