What possibly makes Kai purr? :3

I remember you have that headcanon, but there was no details👉👈

Oh! What makes Kai purr? Well, it's a very rare noise he only ever makes when he's content and relaxed, and then only when he's alone or around people that make him feel that way- so needless to say, there are very few things that actually make him purr, and he probably wouldn't divulge that information...

So let me tell you everything:

1) Having his ears rubbed. Though actually, he's just weak to rubs in general- chest rubs, belly rubs, back rubs, shoulder rubs- literally just rub him and he'll start purring. Not just anyone can do this, however; it has to be someone quite special to him. Anyone else who tries this is getting broken fingers and then drained of their chi like a caprisun.

2) Cupping his face. Seriously, if someone (he cares about) touches his face gently, especially when he's tense or angry...something about that gentle touch makes all of that tension melt away. His jaw will unclench, his expression will soften, and eventually he'll close his eyes and start purring.

3) Playing with his hair. Kai would pretend that he doesn't care, but he does actually like it when someone brushes their fingers through his mane- but be mindful, you have to be gentle. Kai's mane is very tangled, as he hasn't bothered to care for it during his stint in the Spirit Realm. If you want to hear those purrs, you better be good with hair. Also if you braid it, he'll leave it in for awhile.

4) Letting him cuddle you. Kai likes to lead, so if in a rare instance he actually reaches out for that sort of physical affection, and you just quietly let him, at his pace, without commenting on it or teasing him...well, for him, it's very pleasant. This will usually start as a gentle headbutt against the back of your head or shoulder, then his arms wrap around you, and then he just sort of leans into you a bit and rests there. Once he's settled, then the rumbling starts.

Kai x Reader: Bull In Rut

Kai scratched one of his horns against the canyon wall. Some dirt fell, landing in his mane and fur and staining it yellow, but he didn't seem to care. “...I'm not exactly sure how much you know about bulls,” he said.

You furrowed your brow some. “What about bulls?”

Kai paused again. You could almost swear that he seemed embarrassed, though you knew the Jade Slayer had no real sense of shame; the most you could say is he seemed reserved-or rather, reluctant. He glanced away for a moment. Then he released a soft sigh (probably some proverbial “fuck it” in his mind) and turned to look at you again.

“Rut.”

“You're…stuck in a rut?”

Kai snorted. “No, I'm going into rut. Do you know what that means?”

You shook your head. Kai lifted his head, accidentally shedding more dirt onto himself, though he didn't seem to notice. He stepped away from the canyon wall and then began to approach, the bulk of his form looming over you in the tight space. You suddenly felt very, very small as those glowing green eyes pierced through the shadow, pinning you to the wall with its intensity.

“It means that I'm going to go on a lust-driven rampage, and I'm either going to fuck or fight the first thing I see.”

His voice had been low as he said it, almost threatening, though really, that was just Kai trying to make an impression, as always; usually, this wouldn't have worked on you, save the subject gave you cause for silence.

Your mind raced. Kai's eyes searched you for a moment. Then he leaned back, the tension in the air dissipating like smoke in the wind. He snorted again and pushed you gently so that you wobbled a little back, but not enough for you to loose your balance.

“Happy?” He crossed his arms over his chest and raised his brows at you.

So I went down a rabbit hole. I noticed the Blades of Chaos/Blades of Athena/etc looked very similar to Kai's jade blades, so I was wondering if it was any kind of specific blade, so I searched it up. And from what I found, no. So I propose this question: did Kung Fu Panda 3 ripoff the Blades of Chaos?

You know what would have made Kung Fu Panda 3 way more terrifying? If Kai had captured the chi of Tai Lung and Shen and used them in the battle against Po.

Tai Lung is almost certainly floating somewhere in the spirit realm, considering that Po sent him there with the wuxi finger hold. Shen is dead, but it’s entirely possible he has gone to the spirit world as he is still an incredible fighter, even if he wants to kill kung fu.

Kai capturing and controlling the chi of the previous two villains would be an amazing way to establish his strength right off the bat without relying on some ancient scroll to tell us he fought Oogway a thousand years ago. Can you imagine how intimidating it could have been having a jade green Tai Lung and Shen flanking Kai as he approaches the Furious Five?

And the Panda village only escaped Shen’s genocide Po’s lifetime ago. They almost certainly remember him. How much more terrified would they be if it wasn’t some obscure figure from mythology coming for them, but the murderer of their people raised from the dead?
