who up thinking about the fact that to Literally Everyone in his life post-the saredi's destruction, kai = talamines' body. like they know him as enna for less than a day, and then he's talamines for the next 60+ years. idk just something about how in The Past enna (and the saredi) is soooo so central to kai and his concept of Self, but no one else sees him that way!!!!!!!!! in that period (i personally think) his default is still very much being kai-enna - everything about talamines is in comparison to enna. and then come the start of witch king, to paraphrase, 'he hadn't been born into [talamines'] body, but he had been int it for a long time, so long he had almost forgotten what it was like to be anything else.' idk. something about the fact that enna is mentioned maybe never in the present narration. the selfhood. argh.
Kaiisteron, prince of the fourth house of the underearth might be my favourite character of all time and I will not elaborate
Two of the bodies inhabited by Fourth Prince Kaiisteron in the mortal world: Enna of the Kentdessa-Saredi tent and Expositor Talamines - plus how I imagine cantrips and intentions look to those who can see them.

Witch King Review: Big, Bold Fantasy
Martha Wells has been a lowkey legend for more than a decade now, and she just keeps pumping out the hits. Witch King is another solid entry to her canon, a standalone with sequel potential that quietly incorporates current discourse into her classic high fantasy style. This book reminded me of reading 90’s fantasy in …
it's taken me two years to realise this but the reason that kai loses his nightvision and fangs and endurance to cold, hunger etc when he takes talamines is not because he had a stronger connection to enna by virtue of idk it being the first mortal body he assumed and some sort of sacredness therein channeling more of his original body's traits to hers from the underearth, it's because enna is part demon. those aren't characteristics that kai brought with him, they were already there
So, do we think this could be Kai in his current body and Kai-Enna?
I'm re-reading the series and was excited to do some sketches. So here's grumpy Kai looking down on Ramad from the Immortal Blessed throne and Kai-Enna just staring at Bashasa kind of numbly.
