My grandfather's an old polish man and my aunt helps him out occasionally for grocery shopping for him and he'll write down broken english instructions so onetime he just wrote down 'virgins' so my aunt asked what the hell and he clarified 'extra virgins'. The man wanted olive oil.

LMFAO. My great granddad was an immigrant, but he spoke pretty good English, enough to own his own business. He ran a grocery store, and actually built a lot of business on offering black families credit when a lot of stores wouldn't (Mississippi in the 30s-40s). His store outlived him, so he was obviously doing something right!
