SHIT I FORGOT YOU TAGGED ME IN THIS oh god all my books are dumb and/or based on video games
Rules: In a text post, list ten books that have stayed with you in some way. Don’t take but a few minutes, and don’t think too hard — they don’t have to be the “right” or “great” works, just the ones that have touched you. Tag ten people, including me, so I’ll see your list. Make sure you let them know you’ve tagged them
Ghost in the Shell - Shirow Masamune
Starcraft: Liberty's Crusade - Jeff Grubb
pretty much all the Halo novelizations that Eric Nylund did
Starcraft: Queen of Blades - Aaron Rosenberg
Confessions of a Mask - Yukio Mishima
Skydoll - Alessandro Barbucci and Barbara Canepa
Basically all of Redwall but I can't remember any of the specific books because I gave them all to my grandma, and I still don't know if they were human-sized animals or what
the Spectrum series of scifi/fantasy art books
Terrorism and the Ethics of War by Nathanson kinda fucked me up
Framed Ink turned out to be really useful and has stuck in my head
kailexanra replied to your photoset:Both of these are fanservice. Like the bottom one...
I’M HUGELY CONFLICTED BECAUSE YES AT THE TOP BUT OH GOD AT THE BOTTOM.
Imida - 1, 14, 18 and 20.
1. Worst fear?
It boils down to failure. There is still a part of her that fears her father and his “assistants”, who used to terrorise her in their aim of getting her Force sensitivity to manifest, but she has commuted that tangible and based on reality fear into protecting herself. She cannot trust anyone - not family, not a lover, no one. Time and time again she’s failed at being vigilant, and so that will not happen anymore. It cannot. There’s too much at stake now. So she fears getting close to anyone. She fears letting her emotions lead her into an even more profound failure.
14. What’s their definition of a fair fight?
A Force user as powerful as she is, as trained as she is, as good as she is. In other words, pretty much none of the fights she has to face. It pains her, but she’s not going to relax her training schedules and let down her guard simply because of that sense of fairness.
18. What kind of climate do they enjoy most? What planets would they like to live on? Visit?
She hasn’t really given this much thought. Her traditional home is Dromund Kaas, but it’s a bit wet and mucky for her tastes. She prefers warmer, but not hot. Dry but not arid, and with sufficient diversion in wildlife to keep her from getting flabby. She probably would have made a good Mando.
20. What do they want for their birthday?
Apart from not having her father turn up for her “tests” - always a guarantee on her birthday? She doesn’t need much, and doesn’t consider her possessions as all that interesting, but she does secretly love fancy (pink!) lingerie. I think she might hit anyone who got it for her, though, except maybe Vette, who could make her laugh off her embarrassment. Otherwise, older Sith weaponry - she’d love to get her hands on her grandmother’s lightsaber.
Moh’se - 3, 4, 7 and 15.
3. How do they act when they’re really bored?
In downtime and there’s nothing to do, Moh’se gets antsy and grumpy. He might strip back, clean and reassemble his blaster cannon over and over again. He might go and flip through the holonet skimming through ship model specs - which he can never build owing to space and resources on a troop ship. He would be really tetchy and any lip from the likes of Vik might just end in a severe dressing down. 4. How do they react to injury?Moh’se will try to push and patch his way through the pain, making sure his squad is safe before succumbing to it. He’s not the best of patients, being the type to get up off a medbed and breaking sutures, but he will respond to actual orders from a superior. If the injury is anyone else’s, he will go into emergency mode, and get them situated and patched as quickly as possible - he was trained as a medic as well as a weapons specialist, and tends to maintain a cool head in combat and emergencies. Afterwards, however, especially if the injured party was someone he cares for, he tends to hover. He will stay with them until they wake, or die.7. How do they react to small children?
He tends to be standoffish around them, having been screamed at far too often for being “an evil Sith”. He doesn’t really know what to do, and is a bit clumsy, initially. Yet if he had his own child, he would learn to be a good father to them, even taking on half the responsibility of raising an infant. Nappy changing isn’t half as scary as fragging an incoming squad of Imps, right?15. Are they musical at all? What kind of music? Not in the slightest. He has the rhythm of a scavenging barge with a failing motivator, and he couldn’t find the right note with a pair of macrobinoculars. A word to the wise - don’t get him drunk and happy. Ever heard a herd of stampeding bantha? Yeah.
